I visited Tiien Thai on Thursday 5 March 2020 in the evening, a weekday during term time. I was with five other people. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place.
I parked in the street nearby the restaurant - parking was easy.
The restaurant comprises of one reasonably sized main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service.
The team were very friendly and welcoming - we got everything we ordered in good time and enjoyed the experience.
I enjoyed a selection of shared starters including chicken satay, sweetcorn cakes, spring rolls and prawn crackers, a chicken and cashew nut stir fry with coconut rice for my main course and banana fritters for dessert. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was reasonable value for money, I paid around £30 for three courses and drinks. We had a bit of a discussion around use of a discount offer - as this had not been mentioned at the time of booking it was not allowed but we were offered some discount instead - kind of spoilt the evening a little if I'm honest - either offer discounts or don't, why add T&C's like mention when booking, is it so they can reduce the portion sizes for you or something, just makes things look a little sinister but the environment was nice, food was good and the service otherwise was perfect so all in all a good night!
Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would come and...

Read moreBooked a table for 4 to celebrate two of our birthdays 2 couples. Great food but fast paced clearly a get in get out attitude with service. Most of the staff didn't even greet us or say goodbye. Soon as we had finished our main our deserts from a set menu for 2 we're dumped on the table didnt even ask our partners for a desert menu. We were then asked to move from our 4 person table to 6 person table as they said "weve put you on the wrong table and someone is waiting" find that hard to believe as we booked 3 days in advance... Anyway so we all got up moved to another table to finish our drinks. To which point more people turned up wanting a table, the bar manager and staff we're making us feel very unwanted by there general attitude and felt very pressured to force down our last drinks so they could get the next lot of people in. Soon as we asked for the bill it arrived that second. Shame, they just want the table turnover which ruined the evening as we spent £150 and wanted to sit and order some more drinks and have a chat, we were there for just over an hour between 7 and 8/8:15pm until we were basically made to feel not welcome. Extremely poor in my view. Probably would think twice before...
