We booked a table for 18:15 and arrived slightly early. A waitress acknowledge us and said someone would be there shortly - and they were. My wife & I were shown to a small table for 2 just beyond the front door.

Armed with our order I went to the bar to order drinks & food - Surf & Turf, Carvery, large OJ with no ice and a large Pinot with ice. We were informed there were No prawns so they couldn’t do the S&T and I asked my wife what she would like instead, she went for the sirloin.

The gentleman behind the bar poured out a wine and put lemonade in it rather than ice - when he put it on the bar, I pointed out the error. He said sorry and replaced the drink for the correct one - he did say we could have the drink if we wanted - so we accepted.

The bar man said he would give me a shout for the carvery so we could eat together. After 20/25 minutes the waitress came to our table, I thought she was going to tell me to go get carvery, but she didn’t. She now told us that there were no sirloin steaks left and would a rump be ok? My wife accepted the change but did say the rump was cheaper than the sirloin and asked for the difference to be refunded. She did and we received cash.

Time was wearing on and my wife said I should go get my carvery.

The meat was plentiful and cooked perfectly. Sadly the carrots, peas, cauliflower, roasted parsnips (I’m assuming so), roast potatoes and gravy were all warm - edible but certainly should have been a lot warmer!

Whilst eating my carvery and my wife was still waiting on her rump, we saw another gentleman send his plate back.

After I had finished my carvery my wifes steak turned up so we ate separately but it was cooked perfectly and her chips etc. were served hot.

The table next to us had their dinner brought to the table. The lady told the waitress that what was put in front of her wasn’t what she ordered. The lady showed the waitress the description and pointed out what the differences were. The plate was taken back to the kitchen. When the waitress came back, the plate was still wrong - I believe there should have been brown rice included. The waitress told the lady that the chefs had followed their menu and they had no brown rice.

Whilst that’s going on, there’s a lady behind me talking about where she was going to set up her DJ set etc. We then had staff taking the chairs & tables out over our heads, and the family at the table next us, of the section we were in. With that commotion going on, we felt that we were being a nuisance and felt pressured to leave! Surely, someone should have thought to block this area off - it wasn’t as if they didn’t have empty tables elsewhere! On our way out, we were discussing the issue and didn’t realise the singer/ DJ was behind us!! She then said the management wanted her set up by 8pm, but didn’t give her a hand with all the equipment she had!

As a side note, I am disabled and to only have 3 car park spaces for a restaurant of that size, is a poor show! All 3 spaces were taken and we had to park some distance away from the restaurant. There should be double the number of spaces!

The whole experience was not enjoyable. We regularly eat out and this is probably the worst restaurant we have ever been to! We would recommend giving this...

We attend the restaurant as a celebration for my daughter's 7th birthday. We booked a table for 24 people including 5 children and made the restaurant aware of the reason for our visit in advance. Despite this, we were allocated less than 2 hours at our table. We had no starters and with people still chewing their last mouthfuls of dinner, a waitress came over to inform us we had 15 minutes left before they needed the table, just an hour and a half after we arrived. We barely had time to sing happy birthday and present our daughter with her cake while our family felt pressured to be putting their coats on to leave. It took several complaints to the staff from us before we were informed we could stay but by this time the waitress had issued several warnings to leave and completely killed the mood for us. With such a big party and celebrating also, the profit The restaurant could have made from us was substantial but the strict time line and pushiness of the staff inhibited this and made my daughters birthday celebration feel not so special. The food overall was nice and one of the waiters (sorry I didn't catch your name) was lovely and very attentive, going above and beyond by providing support and extra tissues when one of the children was sick, and offering to take photos and carry the cake. Bottom line is, I would return for a standard lunch or quick dinner but if your looking to celebrate for an occasion, this is...

Cosy feeling to the pub when we entered. Didn't wait long for the member of staff to greet us and take us to a table. Ordering our food and drinks ran very smoothly, and bar members polite.Food came at a reasonable wait. Unfortunately, on 2 of our Mega mixed grills, our steaks were not cooked correctly (asked for medium rare), but all were cooked very, very well done. The steaks were, unfortunately, all tough on all 3 mega mixed grills we ordered. Chicken breasts were all cooked just right (it looks dry on my photo, but I can confirm it was juicy inside) Sausages burnt on one side. The sausages were placed on the plate with the burnt side covered.Gammon steaks and eggs all cooked lovely. Chips and onion rings were cooked lovely. We are currently waiting for one dessert of chocolate fudge cake (only one adult wanted dessert), ordered at 4.40pm, and it's now 5.20pm. My husband asked if the dessert was ready after we had waited 20 mins, but no dessert had arrived. There are plenty of empty tables currently.. Now, 5.33 pm and no dessert have arrived... I wanna have a nap..... I'm not entirely sure we...

Ok I use to personally work here. That being said after a few years away I decided to be a customer. The difference in the way it use to be run was night and day .. ill give them that. The lady who bought the food over was particularly polite. Aswell as the lady on the front desk, little bit of wait, nothing to major. The portions were a on the little side if im totally frank, but being a company as apose to a family run business that's to be expected, stricter margins and more policies food was okay i probably wouldn't have what i had then though i would probably have something bigger. But the improvement in the place since I worked there ... fair play to them and thats painful to say but credit where credit is due

We regularly book up for our work nights this was our Christmas do and our waitress Karen was ever so lovely cheery and helpful during our visit we received great service nothing was too much trouble there was issues with one of the starters but Karen explained and resolved this promptly and was very efficient she happily took some group photos of us and was overall a joy which really made the experience and atmosphere great so Thankyou Karen! we had a variety of dishes from the festive menu which everyone was satisfied with the pricing is very reasonable and easy accessible location with plenty of free parking quiet in the restaurant (Sunday 5-8pm)
