Have been coming to Gorleston for about 15 years and always overlooked this cafe, right by the beach. It took us by surprise. It's really clean inside, nicely decorated with sea themes and the owners are really welcoming. The food is, in my view, the best value for money on the front, and locally sourced. No sawdust sausages to be found here. When they say dog friendly, they mean it, they're good with dogs but also keep the place spotless. Alternatively, you could sit in the freezing cold on the promenade, but why would you?

What a pleasure it was to go somewhere for a change & be met, greeted & treated by such hospitable people. The owner & his wife ( Michael & Nora ) are a credit to their industry & we felt like we’d known them for ages. This lovely, dog friendly, cosy little place being so conveniently close to the beach also offers a holiday apartment to let. All meals are very reasonably priced, we are quite fussy with our food but our breakfast was ‘ eggsxcellent ‘ ! Keep up the good work guys & see you soon 👍🏅🏅🏅

First time for many years since we have eaten here. Thought we would try it out, due to the arrival of new owners. Food was excellent with good portion sizes. Also, a Daily Specials Board. Very welcoming staff. Layout and furniture was very interesting. In my opinion, it probably needs some more thought in some areas. i.e. comfort / usability, but not a big deal and not something that detracts from the overall experience. Will definitely be back.

Went there a couple of years ago with family and found it to be a wonderful little gem of a restaurant and recommended it to many friends, BUT we went back yesterday and OMG very different we had a large breakfast for £8 which looked pre cooked and nuked in the microwave the toast was freshly toasted but was cold when I received it, the kids roasts again pre cooked and nuked we asked for one to be chicken but got turkey I think but then with it being microwaved to hell could have been anything really, and to crown it off we had a chicken and mushroom pie with chips peas and gravy well where do I begin oven chips which had gone transparent around the edges due to nuking, hard peas, gravy which had congealed from being reheated and the pie although it was a good size it had been clean cut and sat on the plate like a lump of stale cake, any gravy that was present in the pie had long since left the building the ratio of pastry to filling was 70% pastry 28% mushroom and 2% chicken and completely inedible no way near worth the price which was being charged. We returned the pie to the kitchen only to be given a half Hearted apologie was told it would be removed from the bill and rightly so but was not offered anything else as an alternative or even given the opportunity to order anything else so one of our party went hungry. Very over priced for quality of food , save your money and go to the chip shop...

My daughter and I went in here for a meal today, and after we had eaten our meal, we were still drinking our drinks, any my daughter remarked on it being my birthday, and a lady at another table said it was hers too. The owner then came and asked if I liked chocolate cake, and I said I did not, he then asked me if I liked walnut cake to which I replied I did. He then went away. He came out with a whole coffee and walnut cake and all his Staff, singing Happy Birthday to myself and the other lady, and all the other customers were clapping. The cake was to be shared between myself and the other birthday girl. He then asked if I would like anymore tea, to which I replied I would please. He then brought out a tray of tea for me. It was lovely, a really Happy day, I did enjoy it. The proprietors did not charge for the cake or the tray of tea. They certainly did us proud, I would like to thank them all so much for their kindness and hospitality, and the fun we had. Highly recommended and well worth a visit. THANK YOU...
