Warm welcome from what we guessed was the owner or manager. Quickly delivered us 2 pints of Kingfisher. They weren’t cold as there was something wrong with the cooler; but the waiter was very kind and put some Cobra bottles in the freezer. Poppadoms were nice and the red sauce that accompanied them was very flavoursome. Told the manager/owner that we needed more time before placing our order and he said fine, just call me over whenever you’re ready to place your order. However he returned a few minutes later and said tell me what you like I’ll order for you. Not what I wanted to hear to be honest. Don’t like be pressured into making an order, the place wasn’t busy at all. Portion size were poor on starters; almost £5 for 4 tiny pieces of lamb and loads of onion! Great flavour for the Rana Special and the Naga but the Naga lacked heat and the chicken was sparse. The keema rice was very tasty and the peshwari and garlic naan’s were flavoured well, although the garlic naan was a burnt on one side. The strawberry cheesecake for dessert was straight out of the freezer and was that hard, your could use it to build a house. We ordered Irish coffee’s which were clearly made with Nescafé granules from a jar and it was clearly topped with them as decoration on top of the double cream, very poor! Lastly, the manager/owner was sat in the booth behind us playing videos loudly, which was very annoying!

This is a wonderful little restaurant. Me and my friends enjoyed a wonderful evening out. From the poppadoms with its exquisite relishes, perfectly fried onion bhajees, tender lamb tikka succulent chicken tikka and sheek kebabs served with the most delicious crisp salad. Very well cooked main course dishes including an excellent selection of fish, mouth watering King Prawn, Meat and Chicken Curries all prepared with delicate, balanced mixture of herbs and spices, served with beautifully made Nan breads and fluffy plain white Boiled Rice. Compliments to the Chef and waiters who served us in a most friendly and courteous manner. It really was an amazing meal and a wonderful experience. A big thank you to The New Sunar Gow.

I must say this is the second time I have gone to the sunar gow and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was just perfect. The food quality, the taste and flavour of the dishes we ordered was heavenly. I enjoy eating out and love Indian food, and the sunar gow is a cut above the rest. The service complimented the food, with the service being exceptional. The waiter and restaurant followed all the COVID guidelines, and the staff was very tentative to our needs and a credit to the restaurant. I will definitely be going back again and highly recommend that you all try this restaurant. 10/10. Keep up the work.

18 of us went there saturday evening for a friend’s birthday, most of the curry’s were luke warm, i did mention it to the waiter immediately only to be told that they had done there best, all the plates were cold as well, we were shouted at and told to be quiet while they took our order, the chips were also cold and portions were smaller than usual, also i do believe that we were overcharged because when we asked for an itemised drinks bill we were told that we should have told them in advance because they wrote on scraps of paper then they bin them, i can honestly say that apart from the fact that the food was cold and tasteless, i won’t go back here again because the service...
