The good points are that the restaurant is housed in a lovely old building, the menu had a good selection of galettes which also included a menu d'enfants (children's menu) like you would find in a french restaurant which was a nice touch. However, moving onto the actual visit itself sadly there was a heavy smell of oil on entering the restaurant so I was glad to be seated out in the courtyard. My father was Breton so I was really hoping it would be a gem I adore galettes so a place I would return to often having discovered it. My filling was ok so it was a shame that the "galette" itself let the meal down. Unfortunately the galettes were not made of sarasin (buckwheat flour) the traditional ingredient and therefore did not have the right flavour being more like a pancake and quite greasy. As a customer I also had the temerity to ask for a pepper mill to season my galette - I would have been happy for the waiter to perform this for me if they did not want me to touch the pepper mill. The waiter went off to ask the owner/chef if I could have freshly ground pepper - my request refused - I was then given an old type pepper shaker (not sure how old the pepper inside was). I dud not realise such things still existed! All in all, it was not the birthday treat I...
Read moreThis is the finest Creperie my wife and I have had a chance to dine in. Ever since my Grandmother passed away (she was an absolute master at making crepes) I have never had crepes which came anywhere near hers. We have travelled around France (and other European countries) looking for a best creperie wherever we would go, but couldn't find one which I could call The Creperie. But now I have found the one! La Creperie in Odiham is The Creperie. This place is simply incredible. The flavours are rich and vivid but most of all - it is just like the crepes that my Grandmother was making. Sweet and savoury - the crepes are delicious and Alex, being an incredible chef, makes them perfect every time. Each time we came to La Creperie, the flavours were rich and consistent. By the way the coffee is very tasty too! And last but not least - the atmosphere! Its like coming home! We were recommended this place by friends and I have already recommended this place to my closest friends too. All I can add is - my wife and I are looking forward to visiting La...

Another visit, this time for a jazz afternoon to listen to Nicolas Meier and Anna Stewart. The music was enchanting and matched the atmosphere delightfully.
It's wonderful and rare to have a creperie in this area. Alex, the owner, is charming and hard working.
The galettes are light, thin and delicious. We had the nordique and the complete. Both scrummie-yummie (new French word, sanctioned by the academie francaise). We were emboldened to stretch our waistlines with a second course. The crepe with sugar and lemon was declared excellent by the grey - doesn't sound the same as the blonde.
My pain perdu would have been better left unfound.
The courtyard is pleasant in warm weather. The tables are cheek by jowl as they would be in a French café.
Overall, je ne regret rien. C'est une...
