Previous visit in March was excellent 5 stars but sadly this one lower than average at best. My food was mostly overcooked verging on toasted/burnt in fact. 3 meals ordered but time between daughter's meal being served and my son's and mine was at least 20 mins and only then after reminding them we were still waiting and other table's orders who ordered after us being served first. We were given free desserts due to the problems to be fair. I have eaten at various Ember Inns around 10 times now and this is the only bad experience. However I'm loath to visit The Station again especially as we have dozens more eateries to choose from in Fleet.

Well "The Station Team" responded and asked me if I was willing to "Reach out to them" to discuss this further and work towards a resolution. All good words for a response from a corporate point of view.
I was willing, I did "reach out to them". However, after 12 days or so they have not bothered to grab my reaching hand and have failed to reply to my email. Not quite as caring as they appeared and sadly this has made me feel even more disappointed in The Station and/or it's corporate complaints department for it's lack of customer care and service.
Could it be that their response was mere "lip service" to make it look like they actually did care about a dissatisfied customer? Sadly it appears to be just that.
I have been a happy customer of other Ember Inns in the past and was pleased to see them in Fleet but I doubt I will return to The Station again following this botched attempt at working towards a resolution by ignoring my reaching hand and dropping me like a hot potato or perhaps that should be, like my overcooked fries?? Perhaps if they had served the onion rings on the menu but missing from my plate I could have extended my reach sufficiently to be rescued but it seems that was yet another failure of The Station. :-(

Read moreMy daughter & son in law travelled down from Sutton Coldfield to take me for lunch on Saturday for Mother's Day. Having been to The Station on numerous occasions previously, always superb food, service & attentive staff, we booked to have lunch there. We ordered at the table, my daughter ordered the honey vegetable soup, however arrived as tomato soup with 2 slices of very stale ciabbatta bread. I myself ordered the prawn cocktail, a previous Station favourite of mine, it arrived & consisted of 1 single leaf of lettuce with a few prawns. Main courses, I ordered a medium steak which arrived accompanied by around 8 chips, an barely enough peas to fill a teaspoon. The steak was rare & oozing blood. The service was shocking, cutlery for our dessert being put on the table, no napkins. My son in law went to the bar to purchase another drink, the barmaid was on her phone, rather than getting of her phone, she stood where she was a slid the drink down the bar to him. This Mother's Day meal cost £100+ & both the food & the service was absolutely shocking. I have to say, we will not be returning, we were very disappointed. Read moreAbsolute shambles and a ruined mother's day meal! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Despite giving pre orders for meals days in advance my mother was told that they no longer had the roast chicken she had ordered! Our waiter was very apologetic despite it not being his fault and the manager frankly couldn't care less. Whilst I understand we were a large table waiting for hours for food, people not getting what they ordered (in advance), bringing things to the table that had not been ordered, and then being disappointed with what was served.
A discount was given to the table as pretty much the entire party was unimpressed and disappointed.
Had this been a regular weekend meal we could have accepted that things were busy and left it at that but the fact the meals were pre booked and deposits taken per head it should have been obvious that they would need extra staff or stock for a day that would clearly be busy when they had taken orders before the day.
Didn't get the name of the waiter but I appreciate his hard work to try and find ways to resolve issues.
Kitchen staff and whoever is in charge of stock clearly needs a helping hand.
