Part 2
Dinner tonight was quite different. I was told as I arrived that the kitchen had some ingredients missing so some of the menu items weren't availible. I'm not sure if the waitress forgot to come and tell me what the missing items were but she went off to the kitchen.
She did come back and I went for the prawn starter again as I didn't fancy nachos or garlic bread. The prawns again were delicious tonight. For main I decided on the pizza. The pizza was great and I believe it looked homemade. My pizza came out and the receptionist came in and told the waitress that she hadn't prepared a room as he had asked earlier and he would have to go and do it. The reception area immediately got busy after he left. The waitress then left the restaurant and went to work on checking people in on reception.
The guests who were in the restaurant were getting impatent and started helping themselves to bottles of beer from the restaurant fridge. I finished my food and waited a while pay.
The waitress came back and took a gentleman's order who was sitting quite near me. Everything he tried to order, they didn't have and he was getting adjitated. When she walked away, he asked if I'd had the same problem. I told him I hadn't.
Another customer went into the beer fridge as the waitress was putting on the order into the till and she told them off as they weren't allowed to just help themselves. The other men in the group said they had go as she hadn't been in the restaurant for a long spell. I felt bad for thr waitress as she was only doing her best but they definitely need more staff to be working at the moment.
When the waitress came over to me, I ordered dessert and asked to take it to me room. I didn't want to sit omongst the men in the restaurant. I paid thanked her and went upstairs.
The restaurant the next morning was back to being professional and the staff were great. The eggs were poached to perfection and the porridge was delicious. The one male waiter in particular in the restaurant was very courteous and nothing was too much for him. I'm sorry I didn't get his name. He truly is a credit to...
Read moreRoom with fixed (non-opening) windows? Would you buy a car/house with non-opening windows? Ridiculous! We arrived in temperatures of 29degrees - room roasting!! Aircon eventually cooled it - but can't give soft temperatures at night with a little ventilation. GRR! Aircon is noisy at night - plus guests with arthritis get resultant joint aches. Never again, not impressed. And where the twin beds were separated, there was grit on floor - plus sticky carpet patches! Great to stand on when you get out of bed in the night... It took 3 hours for a simple evening meal - and 'cook' forgot the peppercorn sauce - we reminded him but it still arrived after we finished our meals. Not busy, so there were no excuses! 2300hrs Friday - whilst trying to sleep, guests in room above had feral children practising Riverdance - so I had to dress, go down and find the one staff member to take action. It worked - but for a while only. Saturday evening - ordered one well done steak, and one medium - both steaks arrived with blood running out!! Rejected - so he cooked completely fresh meals - which arrived with exactly the same problems!! These were rejected too, so in time 3rd meals cooked with a different choice. It took from 1800hrs to 2030hrs for 2 simple meals.
No surprise to see that other guests had their food delivered by Uber Eats or similar, bins on the street outside the main door were overflowing with McDonalds wrappers and smelly curry packaging
it is obvious that the few staff on duty have little idea and are incredibly new. How can you justify laminated posters in rooms and lifts begging us to provide online feedback - did you really want me to put all this online for future guests to read? What an awful experience, this ruined what was to have been a great weekend, I tried to give direct feedback to PTI - but there few staff were overwhelmed and website is laid out to prevent feedback.
We have stayed at Premier Inns many times, they used to be our default 'go-to' option for staying away - not so sure for the future. Please fully refund the costs...
Read moreAwful experience at breakfast time. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast both mornings, our first morning I paid for 1 adult and 2 children free plus an extra child. We were watched like a hawk every move we made. Linda kept staring over at us making us feel uncomfortable whispering to her colleague. She approached our children checking their room numbers to see if they had paid even though she had taken payment. Even asking to prove the age of our 14 year old. As I sat at the table with my 2 autistic children she sent her colleague over again to check if I had paid even though I hadn’t eaten. We decided to eat somewhere else in the evening due to the awful atmosphere and the way our children were made to feel. The following morning our children were anxious about returning for breakfast. This time I had joined them so I paid for 2 adults and 3 children free. Once again she had approached one of our children while they were getting breakfast and continued to watch our every move. I had to approach her and ask her to leave our family alone as this behaviour is unacceptable. As a family we stayed in premier inns all the time and even have future bookings with them. Also a previous employee I would have been proud to say I worked for them however this has fully changed my opinion as this is an experience we will not forget and had put me off booking anymore for the future. Breakfast was also...
