Fortes Pizzeria — Restaurant in Hastings

If I could give 6 stars I would. Absoloutely delicious food, exceptional value for money and very friendly staff. We had a pizza, gnocci, lasagna and a vegi pasta.

I feel a little guilty because I questioned the price when I paid for our take away due to what I thought was our £5 starter appearing on the bill at £7.95. The chap was very apologetic and said he only makes a small margin. He insisted I took 2 cans of coke to make up for it. I wasn't trying to be awkward i was just suggesting he takes a look at the pricing on just eat to make sure its right. There was a bit of a language barrier and we went back and forth a little, getting nowhere. Anyway, turns out I pronounced the starter wrong when I ordered and we received another main instead which why there was a price difference. Whoops my mistake and I feel very guilty for putting the man in a position he felt he had to apologise, but fair play to him he came a accross as very professional and kind. Moral of the story, be sure to pronounce it right, or not completely wrong!

Anyway, the food was probably the best takeaway Ive had in a long time and I'm not saying this because of the mistake I made. It was extraordinarily good, all of it.

After having a lovely meal back in June this year, I have decided to book a table for my partner's birthday surprise. And what a surprise it was.

I booked a table for 6 people and we were given a table for 4 people (2 single tables put together so two of us had to sit with our plates unevenly balanced on two tables.

Two of us also decided to have a Diet Coca-Cola. But, there was no Coca-Cola in site. What we were given was brown, sweet and flat liquid. Because we didn't want to make a fuss, brown, sweet and flat liquid it was.

Starts came: Tempura Prawns. Unfortunately, the prawns were not cleaned properly, they still had poop in them. I did complain this time but was dismissed by the chef that what I'm eating is part of the prawns (no apology).

The pizza was not so good either, (Quattro Stagioni), very much lacking in flavour.

It was a very warm day and the restaurant was quite hot but no air conditioning was turned on so we were totally roosting.

Waitrose tried her best to promote the food and she had a large list of Italian food to memorize, and she did a great job.

All in all, we walked away very disappointed and won't be returning...

I ordered food from here and accidentally messed up my own pizza order by clicking on anchovies instead of artichokes. I phoned them, not realising it was my mistake and when I realised, I accepted that I'd messed up and said sorry and goodbye. The restaurant then called me back and said that they'd make me my order again, free of charge, and the pizza chef called me to check exactly how I wanted my pizza. Honestly, they made my night. It was my mistake and they still replaced my pizza. They've restored my faith in human kindness and I even had a cry down the phone. My family have all enjoyed their pizzas and we'll definitely be eating here again. Thank you lovely,...
