The Forbidden Fruit — Restaurant in Hastings

Last Saturday,12/1/25 my friends and I had the pleasure of attending a performance by the talented artist Sandra Drag artist at the enchanting Forbidden Fruit venue. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the amazing staff. It truly felt like a safe haven, allowing everyone to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

For my two friends, this was a first-time venture into the world of live music, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to share it with them. Despite being in the 55+ age group, they were absolutely captivated by the energy of the night, cheering and dancing alongside me. Their enthusiasm has left them eagerly anticipating our next outing!

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff and everyone involved for making it such a memorable evening. If anyone is looking for a fantastic place to enjoy live music, I highly recommend Forbidden Fruit. Excellent food, service and value

I'm a regular here for lunch, so I am used to everything being perfect. However, today everything was absolutely fabulous.

I'd tried booking online the night before, but it was fully booked. I messaged via the Facebook page just to double check and they kindly squeezed us in for an early sitting.

We had yummy roasts (chicken, beef or lamb available) and ordered the extra cauliflower cheese. Simple but generous and yummy desserts... can only remember the apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding with the tastiest Mr Whippy style ice cream!!! There was so much food we even took a little doggy bag away!

Today was busy because of Mothers Day, but the service was outstanding. Sam and Paula were very attentive and always had time for a little chat even when it was busy. I would mention all the staff names but they don't have name badges on, so a big thankyou to the whole team.

Visited last night as we were staying local and wanted a drink, chatting to locals and staff, having a fantastic time, then one of our friends got accused of stealing something from a couple who we were chatting to in the smoking area the majority of the night.

My friend was happy to empty his pockets, and the couple who supposedly “had something stolen” told us and the bouncer that they didn’t accuse us of anything and we we were having a great time with each other.

All of a sudden they kicked the couple out of the bar too with 0 explanation

Very strange and unreasonable behaviour and left a sour taste in our mouths, turned from a great experience to a terrible one, stay well...
