We ordered a takeaway (all vegetarian) and unfortunately left extremely disappointed. We based on our decision to order from here, going off Paul Wickhams review (please see in the review section), where he has claimed to have regularly visited India, and is adamant that this restaurant offers a real authentic curry. We were so looking forward to ordering after a big long drive from Manchester. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed with what we received: - Firstly, the Samosas are not fresh or hand made - they’re small, frozen and deep fried; like they’ve been bulk bought. - The Tarka Dahl was more of a soup and lacked taste and texture. You could not see any lentils in this which is what a Dahl should clearly have. - The Aloo Gobi did not seem fresh, like it had been refrigerated for a day or two and lacked any taste as did the paneer dish, which was very bland. None of the dishes were memorable which is such a shame after the high reviews on Google. Visiting from Manchester and staying locally for a couple of days, me and my partner fancied an authentic South Asian dish - something extremely difficult to find. A lot of South Asian (Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani) restaurants in the UK, do take advantage of areas that are not ethnically diverse/or commonly exposed to the authenticity of a “proper curry”. Being from Manchester and of Indian heritage, we are spoilt for choice and know where to go. My partner being Indian heritage believes this restaurant as well as others, clearly are happy serving food that I don’t believe they wouldn’t eat themselves at home. We’re tired of south Asian restaurants doing this as we know how fantastic the flavours and food can be. It’s such a shame as we had high expectations based on Paul’s review.

small but very worth while resturant in hayling, we was highly reccomended this by friends and also by locals in the local pub the hayling Billy. Efficient service with a smile by a lovely waiter, the food was superb, I ordered a lamb dish and the waiter did check with me the lamb was nice and tender... I was not disappointed it was perfect. The place may be small but don't let that put you off it's a personal experience and the food is fresh, tasty and delicious, I highly reccomend a visit amd we will definatley return.

As a local resident who has visited India several times I am well aware that many dishes in Indian restaurants and take aways are totally westernised no one in Kerala or Amritsar or Mumbai has probably ever heard of chicken tikka masala !! But as local Indian restaurants go the Bay of Bengal is certainly one of the best. The vegetable curries and dishes are exquisite, some of the best curry's I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The dishes have incredible flavours and are visually stunning too The flavours are perfect, the heat is exactly as it's should be, not dripping with oil one bit and the meats in dishes are always cooked perfect, moist and not tough. They have a great menu with so many options that are different to your typical Indian cuisine and are happy to adapt dishes to personal tastes and requirements. The restaurant itself is lovely and clean can often be very busy so well worth booking. Not to mention the very friendly staff who are attentive even remembering your name and drinks preferences even if its some weeks since you been in. 10/10 would...

What a superb Indian taste extravaganza! We really enjoyed our take away from here last night. The meals on offer were a little different from your standard Indian restaurant and in terms of ordering, I have never ordered a take away from someone who was so pleasant and polite.

We had a Prawn Puri and Chicken Chat to start which came with free poppadoms and some free onion Bhajis. This was followed by Chicken Darjeeling and Lamb Tikka Shatkora which were both really really nice and different from the norm. We chose a chilli nan and chilli rice to go with these as we like things a bit spicy! Portion sizes were good, especially the rice which was enough to share. Thanks guys for a fabulous meal and for being so nice on the phone. We highly...
