Mike’s Kitchen — Restaurant in Havant

I live on Hayling and most shops and restaurants are friendly and helpful. Saturday evening my partner and myself popped out to the local shops. My partner is 8 months pregnant. We were just about to go home when she suddenly needed the toilet, being heavily pregnant these things tend to happen unexpectedly. My partner went into Mike's Kitchen to see if she could use the toilet, most places are nice and let you use them without any problems. The guy who was front of house was rude and told her no at the beginning, very loudly in front of everyone eating, making her feel embarrassed. She explained she was pregnant and urgently needed to wee, to which he begrudgingly let her use the toilet. I understand we were not using the restaurant but at least be kind and helpful and polite! This has reinforced that as a local I will not be using...

I love a good breakfast and Mike's Kitchen did not disappoint.

Went with the full English and a coffee.

The Full English was amazing. The absolute quality of ingredients was enough to make it a winner. But add to that all the special little touches like Stokes Sauce taking it that extra little step to make it special.

On top of that the Lady that took our order was warm & welcoming and stayed for a chat which was extra nice as they were busy for coffees & cake (not surprisingly as the cakes on display looked very, very tempting 🍰)

A really nice (and very clean) inside and outside area was available (loo's were also very clean)

Don't miss up the opportunity to go here. I wish I was in the area long enough to go for lunch as their specials looked very enticing.

The place is nice and clean but the food was not worth the price. Maybe I ordered the worse one from the menu but even all of the others that were looking good the taste does not match the appearance. My pancakes were dry but not as much as the bacon. Chewing a pice of leather would have been even more tasty. The maple syrup was the worse I ever tried. And I can promise I tried quite a few. My partner ordered full english breakfast but requested to have it without mushrooms and tomatoes and asked if he could have something extra instead. They said he would have to pay for it! At least then the price should be reduced as he’s not eating “full” english. Was tasteless and not cooked propelry.
