Bushey Bistro — Restaurant in Hertsmere

Just been here for breakfast with my wife and I can honestly say in 20 years of dining out this was up there with one of the worst experiences we have had. I ordered the full breakfast and my wife ordered pancakes with bacon. The breakfasts arrived very quickly but the food tasted cheap produce, stale and every element (especially the pancakes which were burnt and very thick & doughy ) was over cooked to the point it was inedible. When we pointed this out to the waitress she sent over an older lady who i presume was the manageress who had a very bad attitude. She didnt want to genuinely hear our comments no apology for the stale food she just insisted the pancakes were freshly made in house and then charged for everything even though next to nothing was eaten, she made us feel like we were lying and shouldn't have said anything, before we were able to leave she got the bill wrong twice. Maybe they were having a bad day with the food but the attitude of the staff/manageress was appalling not even an apology. Will not be visiting this awful...

The bushey style pancakes were definitely a hit, but the mediterranean breakfast was simply too salty.

Had to drop another star due to waiting 40 minutes... it's understandable as they were completely fully booked on a Sunday morning but still don't really expect to wait that long.

On the plus side the team are friendly and i wish them all the best.

The iced coffee definitely needs 2 shots of syrup, one was simply not enough, and of the two options the caramel is better than the vanilla.

My only comment in regards to the mediterranean breakfast being too salty, it could be balanced out with an extra egg as standard, bread element which i noticed didn't come with it, spinach borek pastry or a plain yoghurt (and too many olives!)

Plenty of parking on nearby side streets.

Bill for 2 was £40, although we ordered 3 mains...

Went to Avanti first time today. I really wanted to be able to give a good review as this a new venture.I ordered a feta cheese salad costing £11:90 The portion size was tiny and very uninteresting comprising of mainly lettuce with a very small amount of tomato cucumber 3 or 4 small olives and 3 tiny cut up pieces of feta cheese. My friend ordered a jacket potato which was a reasonable size.We ordered 2 cappuccinos which were extremely weak.All in all a disappointing lunch.Our young waiter asked how we enjoyed our food and he actually agreed with me and said he would pass my comments on to the Chef! I’m not sure if I will go back as so many more lunch time cafes...
