Cafe Toulous — Restaurant in Hertsmere

Prompted to write a review today purely based on the utterly miserable service I received on my first visit.

Popped in for a quick lunch and although seated quickly, I can't say the reception was warm. Having waited a good 10 minutes to order, I thought we might have to go to the till so began to stand to walk over and was immediately glared at by the woman who had seated us (short blonde lady). We eventually ordered and the food, although pricey for what it is, was very pleasant and came out quickly but each time this staff member encountered us, I felt like we were imposing on her. At one point I got up to request additional condiments, was stood under a meter from her and she didn't even look up - I'd have been happy for her to finish what she was doing but to not receive even an acknowledgement really irritated me. It was in the end, another passing member of staff who approached offering help and got me what I needed. During our visit, a couple of the other waitresses (both younger with dark hair) attended to us and were extremely pleasant - a credit to the business.

At the end of the meal, I went to pay and was galled to notice a service charge had been added to my bill. Service is a gratuity (i.e. to be decided by the customer based on service) and should never be assumed - this presumptuous greed always puts me off of an establishment. Due to this, and the brusqueness of the blonde waitress (who rather concerningly seemed to be the manager!) I requested the service be removed.

Overall nice ambience, decent food and mostly nice staff was ruined for me by the poor attitude of one team member. With plenty of similar establishments in Bushey and Stanmore, I won't be rushing back - I'd rather spend my money somewhere I...

This was our first visit to Toulouse and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Despite being seated, we weren’t offered any coffee or drinks to start. After waiting around 15 minutes with no attention, we had to prompt the staff to take our order, only then to be told that the waitress would take our order when she was finished completing what she was doing. All the staff were just hanging around the till and didn’t seem to be doing anything.

Service continued to be poor — the waitress forgot the skinny fries we ordered, and we were never offered any water throughout the meal. Overall, the service felt inattentive and unwelcoming.

The food itself was average and felt overpriced. I had a chicken and pesto wrap that cost £13 — and that didn’t even include chips. The only real positive was the iced coffee, which was genuinely good.

Just popped to have coffee and crumpets while waiting for my car at Honda. I was planning to work and asked manager to seat where electric plug.He refused to me two available tables after guests left.I was planning to order another coffee and work he told me: Due to busy service at lunch time you can't move.I was only moving to 2 seating places as I was already seating! Poor costumer service.Food was good and coffee was good! Manager service was disgusting! I worked as catering manager over 10 years and never seen this kind of treatment! If working remotely please do not attend as you will be treated differently to REGULAR...
