I have moved to the area from the North West and have been looking for a local and decent Indian Restaurant for a few months. The food here is by far the best I have tried in the area. The restaurant made a good impression even before the main course; the poppadoms were crisp and the chutneys were fresh, served with Bombay mix.The main course was well presented and very tasty. The only matter that let this establishment down was the price of the drinks, which came as a surprise when I was given the bill. £8.40 for a pint of Coke and a pint of orange juice! I explained to the waiter that this was a little expensive, even for the South and so he knocked 60p off the bill; not enough in my opinion! Read moreWe have been here a couple of times before and have always enjoyed our meal and customer experience. On this occasion we felt a little let down by the quality of the food and the rushed service by one member of the team. My wife thought her dishes were very bland and without spice, she ordered the Rogan Josh main course and the chicken chaat starter . I ordered a chicken main dish and a vegetarian starter dish. To be honest I couldn't tell the difference between the 2 dishes as they were both both covered in a stodgy sauce which resembled a Korma sauce but I don't order a Korma dish . One of our waiters came over to our table a couple of times and kept asking if we were finished when clearly we were not finished.

I waited 10 mins for a menu and had to wait a while for my order to be taken. after 30 mins the starters didn't arrive so I asked. one starter the came out and I asked what about the other - the waiter (owner) was baffled. made a start on the first starter which were vegetable somosas only to see I was served meat somosas! I just walked out. it was clear that attention was given to all other dinners who were all white and larger groups verse me an Indian dining on her own with a child. I felt ignored and shoved in a corner. why because I was dining alone with a child, btw who was well behaved and sitting waiting...
