Ok, so I generally think of MacDonalds as 'port in a storm' stopoff rather than a quality dining experience, but today you failed miserably to even attain that low expectation. I visited your 'restaurant' (and I use the term loosely) in London Colney just off the M25. 10pm on a Sunday night should be fairly quiet, but no the drive through was jammed solid. I get in the queue and ask for 2 burgers and an apple pie, then wait and wait (mood and engine boiling over the whole time). the cause of the delays? It seems your staff don't know what a grill order bay is. If stuff isn't ready - send them to that instead of keeping everyone else stuck in a queue all night! It's not hard. Eventually I get to the window and some pig faced simpleton shoves a bag in my hand and grunts something about 'sorry for a delay', by this time i was past interested and left. Checking my order and there is half of it missing. Paid for 2 1/4lb burgers and got one. Now I'm not sure what cooking process you used, but to have a burger thats tepid at best and practically raw cheese is quite a feat. I wonder if it was introduced to any kind of cooking appliance, or maybe just stuck between the thighs of the checkout assistant for a few minutes (presumably this would also account for the delay in getting my food). Lets move on to the pie - a hot apple pie as the packaging boldly states. Sadly another claim you cannot meet as this too was luke warm. Do you cook these still? If so does this happen on the same day they are offered for consumption? Because I seriously have my doubts. So Macdonalds London Colney it seems you failed on all counts. No idea how to process customers, cold burgers, cold desserts, gormless and pretty rude customer service. Thanks to this i now have to make a return trip at my own expense to claim a refund for food that was never...
Read moreA reliable and affordable McDonald’s stop This local McDonald’s is my go-to for a quick, satisfying meal that won’t break the bank. The value for money is commendable, making it great for families or even solo visits.
Personally, I often pop in after work for a meal, or grab a frappe before heading in. At the moment, my absolute favourite is the Biscoff frappe, I really hope they keep it on the menu! The only downside is the straws they provide, which tend to collapse easily, so I usually bring my own reusable ones to avoid the hassle.
One thing I wouldn’t recommend is getting McDonald’s delivered to your home. By the time it arrives, the food is often cold and the chips soggy. To be fair, this is probably more down to the delivery company than the branch itself.
When ordering at the in-store self-service screens, I’ve noticed the receipt doesn’t always print. This can make for an awkward wait, especially when it’s busy, as I struggle to remember my order number and end up hovering around wondering where to stand without getting in anyone’s way.
The location is right by the M25, so it’s busy pretty much any time of day or night. That said, the drive-thru is impressively fast, I’ve never waited more than 3–5 minutes. Inside, the service is efficient, the restaurant is very clean, and it’s fully wheelchair accessible, with disabled parking right outside the main entrance. There’s also 90 minutes of free parking (be careful though, overstay and you’ll get a fine), plus EV charging facilities and a good number of parking spaces.
Overall, this branch is a solid choice for quick, affordable food with generally excellent service, just a few quirks that could...
Read morePlease note, I'm not a local to this restaurant but i am a regular local guide on here and my experience here is the WORST MCDONALDS THAT I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED ANYWHERE IN THE UK OR EUROPE!! If this had been a Gapbuster assignment jobs would be on the line, and its Such a shame i have to give any star rating..... what a shed of a restaurant! First complaint..... you can smell the toilets from seperation door before you even reach the toilet door! Absolutely stinking!! Inside was equally as bad....soggy tissues all over the sinks, the toilet paper cabinet ripped off the wall laying on the actual floor with the toilet paper all around it, taps layered with soap and water marks and i'd hedge a bet that the sinks ain't been cleaned for hours....manky!! The first time i have washed my hands and actually opened entrance door with sleeve of my jacket!! 2nd complaint......if somebody asks for no pickles..... there a reason for this! Yet despite my 2 burgers having a nice sticker on them saying fresh cooked and no pickles i end up with 2 double burgers that were NOT fresh cooked and WITH pickles..... So.....another visit to the restaurant from the car park. All the above pointed out to the manager on the morning of friday 10th november at approx 1.14am order number 027. I will be forwarding this review along with the rest on here to McDonalds head office because the level of expected service & more important, cleanliness is just beyond belief..... and...
