Loved this place, was greeted by Katelyn & made very welcome on a quiet Wednesday afternoon in early May. Menu has something to satisfy everyone, with a one or two course option. I has sole to start & then the Beef & Ale pie. My partner Sarah didn't have a starter, had the pie too & then sticky toffee pudding with Custard. The portions were just the right size, the pie had short crust pastry & a Cock on the crust which was held in a pie dish. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. The bar is well stocked, with Craft Ales & all the favourites. A good selection of Hard Liquor & wines too. The locals were charming & the Staff so lovely. I will be visiting again & again

Visited this gem on a cloudy early spring day, and it was exactly what my partner and I needed. The cozy atmosphere, accentuated by a warm, real fireplace, made us feel right at home. The acoustic music playing in the background was the cherry on top - just loud enough to enjoy, yet soft enough to not interrupt our conversations. What really set this place apart, though, was the staff. Their friendliness and attentive service truly made our experience unforgettable. We're already looking forward to our next visit when we're back in town. A must-visit for anyone looking for a relaxing time with great company.

Phenomenal!!! So pleased we passed by this pub on the way home, the service was amazing and the food was delicious, home cooked and generous! Great veggie and vegan choices and sooo many gluten free options, most of the dishes looked like they could be done GF. Veggie burger and roast beef sandwiches both 10/10. We felt so comfortable and looked after, thank you Mike for being so passionate about the menu and chatting to us, as well as for my birthday dessert! We will definitely be back ☺️

Called in for Sunday roast on way home to Manchester what a result made welcome as soon as we walked in, was seated at table and not rushed to order the service was impeccable even I would say perfect, as for the roast it was so tender you didn't have to cut it, it fell apart veg cooked perfectly and priced very reasonably I've paid twice as much for half as tasty. Well done the cock a lesson to other pubs and restaurants. Will I be back, your to right I will.

Great food, lovely service and dog friendly We visited this pub twice on our visit to Whaleybridge recently. Under new management we found the staff to be very welcoming, the food was excellent with great presentation and our dog enjoyed the treats and cosy fire! We wish the owners luck in their new venture and look forward to visiting again when we are back up north. Highly recommend this charming pub.
