I visited our local KFC this evening to grab some late dinner with my partner. Now, anytime we visist the food is consistently underwhelming yet passable so we keep returning with low expectations. There is nothing more consistent, however than the lack of enthusiasm or professionalism from one individual who works on the drive-thru. He is always blunt and rude when we arrive at his window to pay. My partner and I always comment on how he must really dislike his role and must be a demoralising environment, tonight we learned why.
After placing our order we drive away and park up and begin to eat our meal. The bun on my Zinger Stacker meal was split so the unnecessary amount of sauce went everywhere. I reach into the bag to discover that no napkins we're provided. My Partner order a Boneless Banquet meal for one and didn't recieve any chips. Not surprised, I shared my overcooked and crunchy fries with her and we rolled our eyes. Half way through our food we discovered that we had no straws and the fizzy drinks we ordered we're both flat. Deciding that it was happening way to often I decided to raise a compliant this time and ask for a reimbursement of the missing food and flat drinks.
The gentlemen on the drive thru was genuinely apologetic and informed a manager immediately. The first lady that arrived at the window told me that because we ate the food that we did have, nothing could done. When we tried to rationally state our case we we're met with much amusement from her and the surrounding team members. I strongly informed the lady that I wanted to speak to the manager so I could politely request a refund and suitable resolve. A few moments later another lady appeared and she told us that she would call the Police and that no refund would be given unless we moved our car from the drive-thru lane. She spoke over me and called me a liar repeatedly after I calmly explained the experience. I asked her to review the CCTV footage using the receipt that we were issued so she could see what had happened but she refused and said I couldn't. She took the reciept and I was offered a £2.00 reimbursement for the flat drinks, however this was only gained by listening to her shout at me infront other guests in the main restaurant for a few minutes. She was clearly very emotional and uncomfortable in having to speak to me despite inviting me in the building. I work in Retail Management and understand how much standards and customer experience really matters. This manageress really struggled tonight to show any empathy and infact just communicated really poorly with us.
Coming away from the experience £11 down, I'll take it on the chin, just like her mask. On leaving the premises another gentleman walked past me with a box of food he was also returning, so this KFC is just consistently bad. One final thought for the gentlemen on the drive-thru though..update your CV, there's a whole world of opportunity out there. KFC, I...
Read moreWe've been given up this KFC following many years since few disappointments in the food quality. We ordered via ubereats once, and we sent us 4 pieces of drumsticks and 2 pieces of wings part in the family box. Plus, I'm missing fries in the delivery.
Recently, I returned to order some lunch to have with my colleagues and found out the KFC member reward can not be used via the KFC kiosk machine. I've been told by the Indian waitress that was broken. As the reason I can't have 10% off as member reward. Nevertheless, I ordered via machine and paid at counter. I must say it was an early service hence no many customers. I did request a larger piece of chicken and avoid wings or drumstick parts. These two areas tend to be the smallest pieces, which can not be satisfied and shared equally. She said there are not a lot of chicken breast parts that she can provides hence, it was mixed-up pieces and sizes. I had also requested fresh cook fries instead of hard cold sat in the warmer. Chicken skins were not as crispy as we wish for, but they had seemingly improved since two years ago.
We then revisited this store order via KFC online apps for collection in the drive-through. The same old fashion has been served. 6 pieces of chicken pieces in a family box were 3 drumsticks and 1 tiny chicken breast and 1 thigh, and 1 wing. Dont even mention the crispy skins. All were oily and sticky, and I was not impressed. However, the double down burger (two fried chicken pieces burger) was super nice, only the price almost £10 for a burger just too much.
Please keep it up. Please make sure the chicken pieces' quality and portion are equal, which is value for money...
Read moreFilthy tables and bean spills all over the floor & chairs. Food rubbish waste was left across the tables. The restaurant looked in an absolute state!
During my dismal visit to KFC Hinckley. I asked a member of staff if we could have our table cleaned before we sat and ate.
The male server working that day ( Kai ) rudely told me No - can't you see I'm busy? When I ask if he could call someone to help him out - he rudely & abruptly snarled no at me again.
KFC need to focus on their employee training programs. Communication skills were shocking. This behaviour toward paying customers was beyond awful.
There were 3 customers in the shop at the time of my visit, which does not equate to being rushed off your feet. If I compare this restaurant to McDonald's in Hinckley where folks queue out of the door & round the block for a drive-through! They manage to run a tight ship keeping on top of cleanliness it's not that hard surely!
Never in my life have I eaten at a restaurant where I've been so rudely spoken to by a member of staff. All I asked for was a little cleanliness in my eating area ( it is the least you'd expect from KFC considering we've not long come out of a pandemic )
Not in a million years will I ever eat here again.
As for the server! Kai, may I suggest that you try out none facing customer employment something where you are alone...
