The food was really good, however when plates came out for our main course 3 of the 4 plates for the 2 butchers blocks we had ordered were dirty and needed replacing, our server changed in the middle of our meal and we weren’t notified so when we saw our first server walking past in uniform and asked to order further drinks we were told quite abruptly he wasn’t working now and that we would have to ask another staff member, this same staff member then walked around the restaurant drinking from a large bottle of squash in the customer restaurant area and looked very unprofessional unfortunately.

We had to stop staff members to order more drinks twice and were only really checked on once throughout the entire meal which at £300+ for 5 adults and 3 children although happy to pay it did distract from our once a year special meal out to celebrate 4 birthdays and left a bit of a sour taste to the experience.

Can’t fault the restaurant, food or times it took to get food out etc just our one server didn’t seem interested in us as it seemed he was coming to the end of their shift and didn’t think of how their lack of professionalism and lack of attention could effect a groups experience seeing as he was our server for our starters and mains and changed part way through our mains but could be bothered to let us know instead wondered around the restaurant drinking his squash out of a large bottle and when stopped rudely replied in an abrupt tone to say “I’m not working now sorry you will have to ask someone else!” When he could have quickly explained much nicer that he was just finishing his shift and would get our new server to come and take our drinks order.

The next person to our table after this point visited and checked on us ensuring there were drinks and the meal was as expected as well as making recommendations on the children’s deserts and helping to ensure the children ordered things they liked and didn’t just try to upsell but used common sense to suggest similar items from the children’s menu that the children would find just as nice and filling as some of the adult menu choices saving us a few extra £££’s.

Sorry to moan it just isn’t the sort of thing we expected to see at your amazing restaurant and I am sure some carefully worded management advice would help them to improve their customer service and make them a better employee after all we all have off days and we don’t know what else may...

We dined here tonight, and the service was TERRIBLE. We had a late booking for 21:30; we arrived at 21:15, and the moment we sat down, our waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. We were busy with our baby and asked her to come back. She gave us two minutes, literally, and came back. Our son was screaming his head off, and she just exacerbated the situation, which was so unkind and unpleasant. In the same breath, she rushed us to place our food order, which we did under duress (having had no time to look at the menu). Then she started talking to us through our baby. He was watching a show on the phone. The show says where the dog? she comes over and says, “Where is the black dog?” Excuse me, why black? Given the racial history of white and black people, I found this offensive and covertly racist. She came back and kept adlibating the show rather loudly, was highly annoying, and kept saying “goodnight baby” when my son was wide awake. We had no alone time!  All she wanted was for us to bolt our food down so she could clear the table. When my partner asked for the bill, as we were just sick of her. She smiled, said, "certainly," and winked over at her colleagues. At this point, it confirmed for me that this lady was intentionally giving us rushed service. She hovered around every 5 minutes; we couldn't even have a conversation amongst ourselves. It was so horrible that our little date night was being ruined, and we paid for it. If you are going to provide bad service after a certain time, why offer bookings until 21:45? It doesn't make sense. This lady's behaviour was out of order! Coming from London, where late-night dining is embraced and the standard doesn't slack at anytime. It was a real shock.

I did not catch our waitress name but she has a stong resemblance to 'maleficent'.

I would never go back to another Miller and Carter. Overpriced steak, drinks, and bad customer service—no ta.

I have been to much better places; just check my other Google reviews, and customer service was outstanding and every penny well spent. This place is an utter sham.

The lovely red light you see we had to get ourselves from another table as ours was unlit and no one attempted to light it either.

There was a young man who served us our food, and he was lovely, hospitable, and professional, but aside from...

We’ve been several times to eat here. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff are very professional, attentive and friendly. The menu has a large range of steaks on offer, plus other meals. It’s always very clean, the time between courses is perfect and we’ve always been asked how our meals are, and if we want any further drinks when they are nearly empty. You never feel rushed, nor are you waiting too long between courses, and the bill is always presented quickly on request. The food itself tastes delicious. I’ve always had my steaks cooked exactly to my requirement. The chips and vegetable dude dishes are tasty and the portion size is good. They have a nice selection of cocktails and ‘mocktails’. The deserts are delicious, although we rarely order them, having filled ourselves adequately with starters and mains. I nearly always forget to leave room for their deserts! One of our family members has a severe nut allergy, and they take this seriously , making sure they speak to the chef after ordering, to check that the ingredients are safe for her. It’s not cheap, but I feel the prices are reasonable, and reflect the good service and excellent, perfectly cooked steaks and quality ingredients that are cooked to perfection. There’s ample parking in their large car park, with disabled spaces also, and an electric car charger. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. The toilets are always very clean, with ample space. I’ve never seen young children there when we’ve been, so I’m not able to comment on how child-friendly this restaurant is. But the staff are certainly friendly and welcoming, so I can’t see there being an issue with bringing young children if you can’t get childcare. Definitely a 5 star all round and would highly recommend you try this restaurant out, you’re sure to become a...

When we stepped into the restaurant it really had so much potential. Very clean and polished. Everything looked new. For starters i ordered Scallops, which looked lovely. But there was no seasoning at all and we both added salt to get any flavour from the dish. What a shame as the presentation was fab. I also ordered the click and duck wings, which were lovely and juicy. However it was the mains where it started going wrong. I know their steak here is very good (it's a steak restaurant) but we wanted to try their other dishes as they do offer a good selection. Kids meatballs and pasta looked like the meatballs were overcooked - they looked like small boulders of volcanic lava rock. My daughter tells me the sauce was nice, so all was not lost. I ordered the buttermilk chicken main, which was nice. Lovely gravy and tender chicken. Would have been even nicer if the skin was crisped. No real complaints apart from the asparagus looked like all the life had been sucked out of it and it didn't help the presentation. This dish surprisingly doesn't come with fries, mash or a side of veg. So i was looking forward to the asparagus! The wife's seabass was odd. Supposed to be Pesto crusted, but instead we got a dollop of pesto chucked onto the skin. I thought it should have been on the flesh side to enjoy the flavour? On top of that the skin wasn't even crispy, it was soft and slimy. It was supposed to be on a bed of crushed potatoes, but these were whole and just new potatoes. Attention to these details really let it down, especially when you are paying quite alot for a dish. When we mentioned these points to the staff, we were met with blank looks. An offer to resolve or replace would have been nice. All in all, acceptable. Maybe steak next time!
