Always willing to try new places and support local. A takeaway is a real treat as I tend to cook myself (lots of Indian cuisine).
Where do I start - it was very easy to order and spend my hard earned money (Iām a chef and believe me itās hard work).
Reasonable description of the dishes on the menu which saves googling. However this is where reality and fiction collide. Perhaps the chef had left his spice stash at home and popped to the Coop for a jar of Sharwoods - believe me Iām that underwhelmed. No depth of flavour - we had the Paneer Kadhai ā¦..hereās the Google version - Kadai Paneer is a spicy, warming, flavorful and super delicious dish made by cooking paneer & bell peppers in a fragrant, fresh ground spice powder. The Vasaavi version - tomato sauce with massive chunks of onion - thatās it š³ The chef had also forgotten his knives or couldnāt be arsed to chop any thingā¦.or season anything - you get my drift. Also sampled the Spiced potato and garlic mushrooms ā¦.well now thereās a turn up for books - fancy forgetting the garlic and the spice šā¦bad day chef. I should be relaxing now with that nice warm feeling and my taste buds alive. Nope I feel a bit flat (and vastly poorer to boot).
Highlight of the evening - the jar of mango chutney and locally made naan out of my fridge š
Sort the chef please. Ps photo shows tinned mushrooms (minus garlic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter using the Millenium in hinckley For a long time, all of a sudden it closed with no notice. So we looked for another resturant that you could take your own alcohol, And we found this place, we travel from higham on the hill and now consider it our regular curry house We love it ! The food is amazing the surroundings are great with a great Asian feel. The staff are great, if you find the time to talk to them then it will add to your experience as they are very friendly and attentive, they are also Funny with great sense of humour. We usually have the early bird menu With a few extras, my favorite is king prawn Jalfrezi, and you do get plenty of prawns. We love the peshwari nans too. They will bring you ice for your drinks and water for your meal if you want it. Parking can be a little difficult Sometimes but not a problem as you can park in a side street Or on the co-op and walk down. We really can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Vasaavi for providing a great resturant. Don't forget to change the times on the clocks...
Read moreI have just had what is probably one of the worst indian takeaway meals that I have ever had in the whole of my 54 years. My curry had 4 prawns in it, yes just 4, no vegetables, nothing else, and was just a tub of thick, bright red sauce. So, I paid £12 for what was essentially a tub of sauce! Also, the pilau rice was in clumps and was cold and rubbery. My husband who ordered a chicken dish, also had exactly the same sauce, thick bright red sauce with small pieces of chicken. I am a city girl, so have probably been spoilt with a really good choice of indian takeaways and restaurants serving excellent quality indian food. This was really poor quality and did not represent value for money, it was so incredibly poor. There is absolutely no excuse for serving such poor quality food to customers. Needless to say, we will not be repeat customers, and I shall never order food from here again. I will be ordering from Bengal Village, Hinckley in the future, who serve absolutely...
