Please don't support this miserable little set-up, staffed by cold, unfriendly, conceited staff. Not sure what they've got to be conceited about anyway; it's a small hut in a field. No warm welcome for their paying customers, so I immediately felt very uncomfortable. And then, when I asked to see the amount I was going to pay, because the card reader had no display screen, the bloke tutted, made a face, raised his eyebrows and very begrudgingly turned his screen round 180 degrees to show me. When I mentioned that I found his attitude to his paying customer very rude, he muttered 'whatever' and wandered off. I would have found this attitude utterly incomprehensible pre internet, and now with reviews widely available, I find it even more staggering that someone can care so little about customer service that he doesn't even pretend to make an effort to use common courtesy to avoid a bad review. There are many other very nice, very friendly pubs and cafés on the Downs Link as...
Read moreStunning views lovely staff and great snacks. The Cabin is a favourite of ours, as a family we love to walk past and stop for a coffee and grab biscuits for the kids. They have a covered area with tables and a toilet, parking for bikes and free treats for dogs. They are adding new things all time, but currently have a selection of snacks including; biscuits, shortbread, millionaire shortbread, flapjacks and other similar things. But not generally any cakes. They always Include a vegan and a gluten free option. They serve good coffee and always make it well. My only criticism would be their choice of chocolate topping which is too...
Read moreItâs got an atmosphere all of its own. Set in the wonderful Sussex downlands with the South Downs Way running across the top itâs very popular with cyclists riding the SDW, horse riders, families with children that can play and run around in complete safety and especially dog owners whose well behaved dogs interact with each other enjoying special Breed Specific Days which are enjoyed both by the Dogs and their owners. Plus of course the superb quality of the drinks and cakes. Especially the Eccles cakes, to die for. Along with the Saturday night guest street food vendors and seasonal themes itâs the place to...
