The Terrace Tea Room — Restaurant in Hyndburn

Went in just before 3. Waited while waitress cleaned a table as lots of other tables had reserved on them. 2 people ordered a minute before us as we switched tables due to a wobbly table. Went up to order to be told abruptly that the people before us were the last order as the close at 3. I looked at my watch and it was literally 30 seconds after. No sorry. No we can do cold food or a drink!!!

I can’t understand why in the economic climate you would turn away customers. I could understand if it was quiet and they had already started cleaning the kitchen but they had just 1 minute before taken a food order.

Made to feel so unwelcome we didn’t ask about tea or coffee as we knew there was another coffee shop upstairs so we went there and got a lovely welcome.

Seem to have changed their cranberry & white chocolate scones recipe. They were the best, but last two visits they are totally different & not nice at all. Very flat, doughy & no chocolate pieces. Please go back to original recipe...
