REFUSED SERVICE I got ready and travelled down to the cafe for my visit, upon arrival I was no acknowledgement, after asking a staff member they said to take a seat, another staff member said they are not serving due to “being quiet” (the cafe was bustling and had many customers regardless this is an unacceptable excuse, it’s not difficult even if you are quiet) It was 3pm, closing was at 5pm.
I found this completely shocking and unprofessional, it was a very odd excuse as the cafe is open until 5pm, why advertise this if you are going to unpredictably close and refuse customers who want to support your business and put their money into it. Clearly this was done to cut corners in terms of effort, cost or staffing and it was done to the customers disadvantage. If you are a cafe why would it not be expected for me to come in during your serving hours and get served with food.
This was unreliable, unprofessional and quite disgusting, how would you know if you would be served or not, are customers supposed to guess this, even within opening hours or supposed to spend time travelling down to get rejected.
Really upsetting as I was looking forward to an enjoyable afternoon lunch. You need to reconsider this and improve its looks bad on you as a business, and that is coming from someone who has worked in retail management for over 5...
Read moreWe moved to Heckmondwike in 2021 we have never gone for breakfast locally but it was my birthday so decided to find somewhere local for a proper full English breakfast. Bennett’s did not disappoint we pre booked a table for two for 10 am which was super easy,we were really impressed with parking and were pleasantly surprised to see a petting farm area when we arrived. We were very smoothly shown to our table and the staff were so friendly we were offered plenty of toast and the breakfast was fantastic and the sausages were the best I’ve had in while, all the food that passed us looked gorgeous and we’re tempted to stay and share some pancakes. We went to pay at the till and couldn’t really bypass what the place is famous for eggs. So we bought a tray of 30 large eggs. Had a quick round of the petting farm all Animals looked after. The donkeys and pony looked a little cramped but generally a lovely addition to going for breaky. I write this review a week after our visit because I’ve just started using the eggs and I was pleasantly surprised to find the yorks beautifully orange and I was overjoyed which means I won’t be buying eggs from the supermarket. Thank you for doing great work! would love to see that telephone box out in its full glory...
Read moreWe had a table booked for Saturday 26th October in the afternoon.
The food was absolutely delicious, we were very impressed with it.
However, i understand you're a very popular, busy place, which i totally understand, but when tables need moving to either separate or put together for bigger groups. The staff just dragged them across the floor. This made such a racket, we couldn't hear each other speaking. Surely 2 people lifting the table to move it, would be better in reducing the noise, and also better health and safety practice?
I also understand because you are so busy, there are lots of people around, so looking around the lovely things you have for sale, was very difficult too. I would have bought something if i had chance to look properly.
We did however buy 6 eggs, you're very famous for been an egg farm, and we were told they're the best eggs around. I was though, extremely disappointed to find out when i got home, they are from "CAGED HENS" This really upset me, as i always buy free range eggs. I should have looked properly, but since you're an egg farm, i presumed you would only...
