Great local drinking pub. Has had a change of ownership a few times now. It's new management has re-established it into a great pub that is very popular with the locals. Great outdoor deck with views in the sunshine for when the weather is glorious. Great range of hand pulled beers on tap, as well as a very good range of wines, spirits, extensive gin options, Cider options include the non alcoholic kind (so your not tied to a lime and soda or an elderflower fevertree if your not drinking!) And the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. New Year's Eve they will do an event with a live band and an evening buffet, and every Wednesday they have a quiz and supper night. But other than that they currently don't do food, however there are snacks available at the bar. But that doesn't mean to say it won't extend to food in the future as it used to serve meals in the past. Great place to have a few pints and catch up with friends!
Edit: they are looking to do food again shortly, the kitchen is being refurbished. Has also now got sports so the blokes can go there to watch the football if they want which is a nicer pub to go to than...

Unfortunately we were left very disappointed I don't know if we got them on a bad night but it was really bad. The fish cakes were like deep fried rubber balls you couldn't even taste any fish we only ate two out of four between us. I had the sweet and sour chicken which I ate because I was starving my wife had the Thai green curry which can only be described as soup when she had eaten everything out of the bowl there was still an inch and a half of the watery sauce left in the bottom. The atmosphere at the pub was very good and they had a good selection of drinks it was very busy. So maybe we did get them on a bad day but unfortunately first...
Read moreTransformed from a moribund back-street local. Absolutely heaving with a diverse clientele of drinkers on a Friday evening. Excellent pint of Mallinson's Simcoe (TT Landlord and Bradfield Farmer's Blonde also available - nice but a rather minimal spectrum of beer). We'd booked for their Thai food operation which features a sensibly short menu of Thai classics - starters, curries, stir-frys and pad thai. The four of us had a selection and it was all very good. One of our group had lived in Thailand for several years and was very impressed. Reasonable prices,...
