Just had the pleasure of dining out at Piccola Taverna, Huddersfield. The first feeling you get is authentic and friendly. We were greeted by the son, charming, funny and charismatic, such a great start to our rare evening out(being parents, these are rare moments lol). . We didn’t have to wait long to be served and picked from a very wealthy menu, offering a plethora of Vegetarian, Meat and Gluten Free options, we felt spoilt. We chose Pizza Funghi, Penne Napoli, Garlic Mushrooms and Mediterranean Salad complimented with a Rose Wine. . Didn’t take long before the food arrived, and well, blown away! We were away in Italy early March this year, the meal we had tonight made us feel like we were back in Italy! Authentic food, flavours and craftsmanship! If you want somewhere that feels they put love and passion in making and preparing your food, Piccola Taverna Huddersfield is this place to be! We will be back, many more times! . We had such a great evening, talking to the owners and their family, it felt like home. Highly recommend, it’s a little piece of Italy in Huddersfield! . PS and don’t forget to try Mamas homemade cakes! Delicious!! . Thank you so much for having us! . Andi...
Read moreWe went for the first time on Friday extremely disappointing We ordered pasta garlic bread chips and pizza, firstly the young waitress needed training as they didn't know what was on the menu, we felt sorry for them having to keep asking them ,secondly the cutlery was dirty, then the starter and the pasta main came out, when asked about the pizza that didn't come at all the waitress spoke to me very rudely, then the owner came down being very loud and arrogant.he asked how the service was and didn't give us chance to reply he walked off ,we didn't get the side plates or chilli flakes when asked for them to begin with ended up taking the pizza home as a take out in the end as we had finished our meal so spolit the complete mood and atmosphere in the end.went upstairs was offered wine as a good will gesture at which I stated I don't drink alcohol then she offered me again wine.then offered to take off the pizza completely disappointing never...
Read moreWe had an evening meal here with friends and it was amazing. There were 4 adult and 3 children aged between 10 -12. The service was fantastic from the minute we arrived. The drinks order was taken swiftly and we were then given time to look over the menu. Everything we asked for was catered for, incuding my gluten free requirements. All the staff are very friendly and it's a truly family run business. The Owner/Chef has ceoliac which gave me great confidence that the food would be prepared in a gluten free environment and that the restaurant has a full understanding of food intolerance. The service throughout the evening was superb. The desserts were also gluten free, but I was so full from the amazing food, I just had to take a cheesecake home with me! I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an authentic Italian meal in a cosy family environment. We will definitely...
