I just wanted to share a recent experience that we had in The Liversedge.|We went as a family to get together after a family member had passed away and a day to share memories before the funeral.||We are a family that are scattered around geographically so to get together all at the same time doesn’t happen that often.|It started really well the Pub was very quiet and we asked if we could have the large table we advised we would be drinking and some maybe eating which is absolutely what happened.|The afternoon into early evening was ok each time we went to the bar we collected our own empty glasses and took back to the bar to help the bar staff.|The ones that ate during the afternoon did but due to the nature of our get together not everyone wanted to eat till later, we discovered closer to the early evening that food stopped at 6 and the bar closed at 7 so we didn’t want to be rushed eating baring in mind some of the party was staying there in the rooms.|We we sat outside with our final drink of the day and someone decided that we would go and get a sandwich from the fish shop as the food had stopped and the pub was closed.|While we were sat not causing any disturbance to anyone the furthest table from the door eating out nutty. The Landlord I assume came out in an angry manner stating we had no right to eat anything on the outside table, we were shocked as we had been a customer not only in the bar but the hotel … he was RUDE YO SAY THE LEAST.. we explained we had spent money on food and drink roughly between the 12/13 people £500/£600 he didn’t acknowledge that at all they would not have had any meds but no he pretty much threw us out the Carpark and told the people staying there to go eat in there room.|In this current situation with pubs etc closing I would have thought he would have been a little friendlier.|We didn’t mean any harm and his reaction was beyond belief.|We were going to go again as a family but took our business elsewhere.|NEVER AGAIN ……RUDE RUDE RUDE no...
Read moreWe have been to the liversage a couple of times as we have children and feel it is child friendly and the food was always okay. We never expect to eat amazing food when kids are involved! So we visited yestarday for my mums birthday and we had booked a table. Upon ordering they told us there was a 45 minuite wait on orders. Our startes came after about 20 minutes and when they had taken them away we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our main course. When the food arrived my dads steak was still bleeding and he asked for it meduim/well , my husbands Nachos was a bowl of crisps with pulled pork ontop (no cheese or sour cream) when he complained the young waitress said she had told the kitchen but she had to get the next table cleaned and she would deal with it in a minuite! She then came and took the nachos and brough back some more with cheese sauce ontop (said they had no sour cream) My husband took it striaight to the bar and got a refund. My dad complianed to the waitnress about the meat and then another lady came to the table in a nice loud voice, so tht all the surrounding tables could hear said "I ve been told you want to make a compaint" . We explained that we had already talked to the waitress, she explained the younger waitress could not deal with complaints and that she was a manager. She offered us ice creams or puddings in which 2 members of our table accepted. The ice creams came and they were not the ones we ordered! (by this time we were all laughing) We then saw another young waitress crying ( Probaby just a stressful day but she had been introuble from the manager) They never brought my mums cake out so we just asked for it as we were leaving and stood round the table with our coats on. Anyway We decided to find a new venue next time for some...
Read moreWent for Lionel Richie tribute night on 1st December as a party of 4 females whilst he was good and entertaining the end of the evening was not. Wasn't expecting much on the 3 course food to be honest with it being a party night. Had the mushrooms for starter which were cold, turkey and potatoes were nice and hot, the vegetables had been overcooked and were soggy and the sticky toffee pudding was luke warm but to be honest not a drama.
What happened near the end the night was not pleasant and certainly not appreciated. What I can only assume was the bar manager came over to collect our empty glasses and wine bottle muttered something and told us he would be watching us for the rest of night and promptly accused us of taking in our own alcohol WHICH WE HAD NOT. Bar staff had been alerted by another customer that our table had been drinking our own alcohol. 2 of us were driving and were on soft drinks and water. After confronting said member of staff at the bar and asking what he was on about 5 mins later he sheepishly came over and apologised as he had got the wrong table.
Surely if you had been alerted to the fact that own alcohol was being consumed you would actively be observing the act and making sure you got your facts right before accusing innocent people and making them feel humiliated . You were then left with egg on your face and made to look stupid as the other customer who had reported this stated that she had told you it was the table behind us. A token free drink or discounted meal would have been appreciated but nothing at all was offered, just a back handed apology.
Shame about the customer service as we used to go here a lot. Maybe an internal course on customer service...
