Wonderful Chinese — Restaurant in Kirklees

For years this was our favourite Chinese food takeaway. Last time the food wasn’t good, fatty, over salty, not hot and super greasy. I phoned to say so rather than write a public review and was assured it was a one off. So tonight we tried again, and I have to say this goes down as one of the worst takeaways ever. The prawn special fried rice was stodgy reheated rice with peas and 7 very hard prawns. Even the cats didn’t want the prawns. The chips are without doubt yesterdays reheated, possibly in a microwave , really horrible texture and stone cold. The curry was so thick and gloopy it flopped out out of the tub in actually the tub shape, and stayed that way, it was the only piping hot thing we received. We ordered as it was a busy day, no food in and we thought a treat was in order, so disappointing and shocking.I have rated two stars in memory of previous good meals and a friendly delivery driver. ...

Ordered a delivery. Firstly, arrived within a reasonable time. Such a cheerful driver who asked if I was looking forward to my meal and hoped I enjoyed it.

Now, I've had crispy beef from many a takeaway but never as stunningly crispy as this. It was melty crispy, if that makes sense. One of my pet hates with takeaway Chinese is when it's overloaded with green peppers. Nope, green, yellow and orange peppers and not too many of any. I also had beef noodles (it's a really long time since I've had Chinese!) not my favourite type of noodles but that's personal choice. Beef was tender and it was very tasty dish.

Overall it was a really pleasant experience and I'll definitely order from there...

Wonderful Chinese was recommended to me and I was excited (sad, I know) to try it as the only other Chinese that delivers is poor. I'm afraid to say this is not better. I had spring rolls and a chicken curry. Everything I ate was absolutely tasteless. The chicken was sliced and had a patterned edge which makes me think it came from a tin and there wasn't much of it. The curry was full of peas (no doubt to make up for the lack of chicken) which I dislike as it show's they are cutting corners. £20 for this terrible meal. Never...
