Oh I really didn’t want to have to do this! Italian is our favourite cuisine and there’s definitely not enough around Prescot. So we’ve been wanting to try Fez since we found out about it. We’re big foodies and we eat out quite a lot and honestly this was the worst food we’ve had in a LONG time. We visited yesterday Sunday the girls front of house were absolutely Lovely. But there was only 3 tables (no party’s or anything) the service from ordering to actually getting the food was so slow I’d hate to visit on a busy day we waited ages - the waitresses did apologise for the wait but no idea why everything took so long!
We got the garlic bread and cheese and the bruschetta fungi for starters. The garlic bread was lovely, the bruschetta was edible but not great like a 4/10 at best!
As the starters took so long we ordered our mains strait away so we didn’t have to wait as long! Risotto come and the consistency was like porridge I know risotto isn’t the easiest thing to perfect but i wasn’t expecting slop. To add to this it absolutely stunk like soil. It completely put me off to the point that it was sent back. The chef come over to explain that it was the mushroom in the risotto but honestly it’s one of my favourite dishes and I’ve never ever had this experience before!
The carbonara was completely flavourless and missing the chicken (the waitress did take off the extra charge for the chicken) I’d have given it 2/10 but my partner did eat the majority of it because he will eat anything!
The lasagna: was 3/10 had flavour but lacking meat after three bites I left more than half.
When asked about the food we did express our thoughts and the waitresses were more than apologetic. But nearly £70 (which tbf is a lot less than we would usually spend when eating out!) later I can’t help but feel a little bit robbed for what it was!
We was offered deserts which we would usually get but after everything being less than satisfactory we desired to leave it.
I’m not at all a fussy eater but I wouldn’t recommend or return to Fez...

Tucked away in Prescott, Fez delivers the sort of dining experience that would make some of Liverpool’s most exclusive restaurants blush. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, but the food is anything but ordinary.
The prawn starter was nothing short of exceptional – perfectly cooked, juicy, and bursting with flavour. The seasoning was spot-on, letting the natural sweetness of the prawns shine, while a subtle hint of spice gave each bite a gentle kick. It was one of those starters you wish you’d ordered as a main.
Then came the mushroom risotto, which can so easily be heavy or bland in less capable hands – but here, it was a masterclass. Creamy, deeply savoury, and layered with rich earthy notes, the rice had just the right bite. Each spoonful was pure comfort, yet refined enough to hold its own against anything you’d find in Liverpool’s top-tier venues.
What really sets Fez apart is how it manages to combine outstanding cooking with genuine hospitality – no pretension, just quality. If this place were in the heart of Liverpool, you’d be paying double, and it would still be worth...
Read moreOne star because no stars isn’t an option. Say down in the outside tables. We got a menu right away. We ordered drinks and give our food order in. The drinks took about 10 to arrive.
We waited for over 45 mins and our food had not arrived. I went to the bar to get another drink and asked how long our food would be. The young lady went away to the food prep area and came back and said not long. I then asked how long is not long. We went missing again and came back and asked what we had ordered. I told her and off she went again. She came back and informed us our order hadn’t reached the kitchen area. I have wondered how she came to the not long to wait for our food conclusion. If the food hadn’t got to the kitchen on what grounds did she think it was acceptable to say not long? We settled out drinks bill and went along the road where the service was a lot better. Under here there are several tabs asking what we got? Breakfast brunch lunch and dinner. Maybe an an option...
