Almost didn’t find as council wouldn’t let them put their sign up as it’s a listed building. The owner luckily for us was outside. Very welcoming and the place is like going into a friends front room. A few books and crannies and a very eclectic decor. Warm and inviting and the best vegan cakes I have found by a country mile! I had a potato based spicy shepherds pie maybe a teeny bit more seasoningšŸ™šŸ¼ As it was our wedding anniversary we where very kindly given an extra slice of cake as we couldn’t make our minds up, so delicious we will most definitely go back in our next day off as it’s a shame they aren’t open longer . On a side note they sell records(yes real vinyl ) and other bits and bobs. All in all a lovely homely experience thanks we will be back !

Absolutely lovely full English breakfast here. I'm not vegan in the slightest, my brother is. Enjoyed our little catch up here with good food & drink and very friendly service . Special thing about this place is it's unique..... It's quirky . It's original . There is also a shop upstairs that will send your mind back to the 80's all the way to 30's and 40's. It's like an experience.. never mind just a place to fill your face.

Provided my vegan wedding buffet, the most amazing company to work with, photo of the food doesn't do it justice. Phoenix Plant Based Eatery went above and beyond for us and we cannot thank them enough, our guests were raving about the 'duck' rolls especially. They really raised the bar on our whole event, highly recommend booking them to cater for any event!

Visited because it was next door to the place that we WANTED to visit, but which was closed.

Neither of us are Veggie/Vegan, but we weren't averse to trying something different.

Enjoyed our meal, although I was personally restricted in what I could safely eat, as I'm Coeliac. They had no Gluten Free Bread to make me Sandwich or a Toastie. I settled for a Vegan Frittata which was very nice. I wish I'd realised that there were going to be Olives on my Salad, as I really detest them! What a waste - I'd have preferred a much simpler salad with some Vegan Mayo dressing on it.

I was also stuck when it came to coffee - choice of Oat Milk OR Soya Milk. Coeliacs cant have Oat Milk (contains Gluten) and I had to have Soya Milk - which I now know that I don't like. For future visits, I'd take my own semi-skimmed milk in a small container and ask for Black Coffee.

Would go back for another visit - but I'd phone first to check if they've got Gluten free bread...

What a wonderful afternoon! Myself (Vegan-in-training šŸ™ƒ) and my family arrived today for our first eating out experience since I started eating plant based only. We were greeted warmly by attentive staff and selected our drinks. Happy there was a choice of milks to choose from for our tea. Chef kindly offered to create a dish for my son (who lives off pasta and meatballs) which was greatly appreciated as I worried he wouldn't find anything to his liking. Needless to say he wolfed it down! I opted for the special which was barley stew and dumplings. Hearty, homely and utterly delicious. I even got another portion to take away for my work lunch! Hubby had the "chicken" wrap with sweet chilli and salad which he loved and a side of salt and pepper chips that he described as the best he'd ever had. We couldn't leave without cake away. We opted for the carrot cake and the chocolate torte which were both delicious. I honestly can't wait to try more dishes from...

What an absolute gem this place is. Phoenix is the one and only 100% vegan restaurant in St Helens and it’s absolutely amazing to know I’ve got somewhere I can safely eat when I’m in the area. I prefer to support 100% vegan businesses where I can and it’s so lovely to know that Ann-Marie is so passionate about the vegan lifestyle and helping people make the change with the fantastic array of food that’s on offer. I popped in during lunch time and went for the scrambled tofu on toast and WOW! It was the nicest tofu I’ve ever had - period! I also took away some cakes and they were too so tasty and delicious. I’d highly recommend giving this place a visit and supporting a business that is committed to helping not on the animals but the people and the planet too. The portion sizes are brilliant and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Thanks so...
