Solasta Steakhouse & Á La Carte — Restaurant in Knowsley

Unfortunately the worst dining experience we’ve ever had and to have it on Christmas day makes it worse. This is no fault of the serving or bar staff and more of the organisers. We booked our party of 10 in in September and confirmed the booking 4 times since then, both in person and over the phone, however we showed up on the day to find there was no booking for us. 2 hours after our original booking time we were having our starters. Then came the main which is what I have attached a photo of, we were told that there was no beef left so turkey was the only option, this was how it was served to us, this was their Christ Dinner that we were being charged £60 per head for. One potato cut in half, one small carrot cut in half and the driest turkey I have ever experienced and absolutely no trimmings at all. The atmosphere was awful, when we walked into the restaurant another customer told us not to bother and that everyone in there was kicking off and people were crying. When it came to the bill we were told our drinks would be free, that was only 2 rounds of drinks which we said simply wasnt good enough and that the food was awful. We still begrudgingly paid £45 per head as we felt bad for the staff who’d had to spend their xmas day working in the most unorganised mess we’d ever seen. It was unfortunately clear that they had attempted to purely maximise profits by massively over booking themselves, there were still tables showing as available on their site when we arrived and they genuinely ruined Christmas Day for us. Never ever had a problem in here before. Been in many times and never had this experience. There was 5 of us, 2 of us left earlier. So we paid our half of the bill at the bar. (We normally get table service)

The Manager took ages to take my 2 drinks and fries to be paid for. He carried on with saying”Thank you more your patience my system is playing up”. Which I replied “that’s fine”. He then got it to work which I PAID my £17, which is still shown on my bank statement.

After we have left, our 3 other friends stayed for more drinks. They then got there bill and the manger turned round and had the audacity to say “we still have £17 to pay of the bill”. So basically trying to make out that us 2 had left and not paid our bill.

He made our friends stay in the restaurant till they paid the “£17”.

Really used to love this place and thought it was a great atmosphere with great food. But this experience...

Had Xmas day meal here at 5pm . We walked in and had to wait 39 minutes as the table wasnt set or ready. There was no table service snd had to go get my own drinks and que at the bar due to them being greedy and over booking. They did not have enough staff on for the customers they were catering for

Waited a hour for the starters to come out only to find they were cold snd wernt edible.

Waited another hour from the poor starters, for our mains which came out and was even worse .

There was two small potatoes on the plate with cold meat and a rock hard baby carrot. My partner ordered a well done steak only for it to come out rare she sent it back and it came out again rare three times . They ended up cutting her steak into small pieces to get it well done like you would on a kids dinner . Embarrising
