The Brunch Bar — Restaurant in Lancaster

Food here is revolting. Visited at about 1230. Ordered chips and a battered sausage. Chips were obviously old. Battered sausage.... a bit of the batter was crunchy but the majority of it was soggy as though it had been sitting for a while. All served in a carton which had the cheek to say "freshly prepared" (true, i suppose, but definitely not freshly cooked and I understand why, in hindsight, the staff seemed to be mocking my order). There was a weird taste to both and I'm not sure the sausage was properly cooked. Later learned that the owner has a habit of using the chip fat to cook other food, and you can tell. Normally when I order this I'm waiting about ten minutes. I was out in about one minute. Definitely a place to avoid.

Thankfully I found a layby containing a bin to dispose of this stale food and, happily, a rather good butty van at the same place which I heartily recommend.

I asked for my black pudding to be well cooked and it was cold in the middle. The beans were tasteless and the ham on my sandwich was grey. The cheddar was like mozzarella too. Whilst looking at the drinks, the delivery guy who delivered the chips just expected you to get out of his way like he's the king or something. Last time i went to this shop it was fantastic. This time ruined it for me unfortunately. The staff were pleasant but the food was disappointing. Quality was not fantastic the sausage was cheap sausages the bacon flavourless and the cheese wasnt melted it was cold which cooled the sandwich down too...
