The Royal Silverdale — Restaurant in Lancaster

These guys were a welcome relief from some really awful service at the Silverdale Hotel just down the road! Didn’t need a booking to get some hot chips for our daughter, went out of their way to make us welcome & even though understaffed…they tried hard to make sure we left Silverdale much happier than we had left the Silverdale hotel! A couple behind us had also had the same awful customer experience at the Silverdale & it was great to see that as just 2 couples that were turned away we contributed circa £60 to a place that is welcoming & wants to make people feel that it is a great place to stop!

Lovely looking pub and nice peaceful place to sit outside in the sunshine. The website looks amazing and other reviews are great. Unfortunately we did not get to sample any food or drink because the staff did not come over to take the order. We left after 15 minutes of asking to order and after multiple tables were served/cleared around us. We would not usually mind waiting at all but it was not busy and at no point were we acknowledged re. the wait There are also very limited vegetarian options on the evening menu i.e. just pizza. Such a shame as we were really looking...

It would be fair to say that the staff here were the least miserable of the 4 establishments we visited during our stay. Some lovely members of staff but others just there for the pay day. Food ok, but on a bank holiday weekend perhaps they could have served food later than 8pm on a Sunday. Can't blame the staff for that, though. Dog friendly and lovely patrons.
