Butler's — Restaurant in Leeds

I have been housed in Kirkstall Forge since 2019, whilst the food is tasty. The pricing, portions and service is in urgent need of review!

With the cheapest meal costing £3.25 for a jacket and soup being £4.00 with a cold baguette - I’m at a miss as to how this pricing structure has being made. The most expansive meal is £6.50 - add a drink and a packet of crisps you’ve spent £10 on a lunch for work!

The portions have reduced, yet they are still charging high prices, but to get a subsidised price which is basically 50p or £1 less you are forced to download an app as a tenant of the building.

Finally, they do not start serving lunch until midday which means you are queuing with both tenants of the building and external customers using the restaurant. Resulting in either queuing for the period of your lunch or not having a lunch at all.

Today, I paid £3.00 for a handful of chips and a packet of crisps!

Staff are overrun and there’s no order to the service being provided. It’s a shame as it could be so much better, just like it was when our office...

Butlers is a great place, in fact it’s nothing short of wonderful. Food is all fresh, top end quality and for Leeds UNBELIEVABLY good value. (Try the BFC you can thank me later. 😉) The staff are all friendly approachable and welcoming. I had a period of parental leave in 2022 with my son & we went most days for a brew. Plenty of high chairs, great changing areas & even hold spare wipes and nappies (let’s be honest on sporadic kip this can be a godsend!!) Staff are really attentive around warming milk chopping up food etc. I am now back at work & this is a great place to sit with laptop and do emails and calls. Even met colleagues here (the aforementioned reasonable pricing structure of lunch blows southerners minds!). The team also supports local independent businesses, with an array of goods/gifts offered for sale on site. In short I hold Butlers, the staff, & the food in the highest regard. several visits. all poor will not go back! tries at a sausage breakfast roll. 1St - Air bubble in the bap so NO bread on top... why did whoever butter it think thats not good quality & not worth £3.50! 2ND attempt they delivered in sliced bread despite my asking for a bap/roll, they kindly swapped it - but the sausages has been cut into quarters as they just tipped these from the cut bread into the bap! 3rd attempt - on Tues morning at 930 no sausages! will not be trying again! Overpriced & horrendously terrible queue at lunch time. Will bring my own & not waste...
