Raj Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Leeds

Absolutely terrible experience at Raj Pizza Bar in Leeds. The food was completely substandard: the doner was half-cooked, cold in parts, and warm in others. The wings, chicken steak burger, and strips were clearly shop-bought, bland, and lacked any flavor. The fries were decent and the salad was fresh, but everything else was either undercooked or tasteless.

The atmosphere was mediocre—acceptable for a pizza joint but cluttered and uninspiring. To make matters worse, the service was appalling. One server got our orders wrong, didn’t prepare the onion rings we requested as appetizers, and rushed out the doner without heating it properly. When I raised concerns, the server in the white shirt was argumentative and more interested in being right than resolving the issue. Only one staff member was polite and helpful, but that wasn’t enough to salvage the experience.

The special meal deal was very limited and nowhere near worth the £8.50 charged. In the end, my friend and I threw away the food out of fear of getting sick—it was that bad. Now I’m genuinely concerned I might have food poisoning, which is the last thing I need before a long journey.

Used to be my favourite takeaway for 15-20 years but I just got robbed by them.

Three nights ago, I placed an order for delivery, waited an hour for it, I decided to call the store and ask about it, which they replied “Sorry we had to cancel the order, we don’t have the right stuff” Only ordered burgers and garlic bread.

They told me the money would bounce back into my account within 10 minutes, it has been 3 days, and still no money.

Why would they not call me before hand to tell me my order got cancelled? Instead of waiting for me to call, it is clear that they didn’t actually cancel the order, they just stole the money from the order and never sent the food, as I have still not received either 3 days later.

I really like the older fella that runs the place, its a shame that the store has recently gotten a terrible name in our area, due to the younger staff that have no idea what they are doing, and stealing...

Sometimes great, sometimes very mediocre. I got a calzone £5.50, for myself, it was incredible. I also got a 'crocodile calzone' £7.50, for a friend which was clearly more expensive but half the size. The chips weren't a big enough portion to make a chip butty out of, so to conclude, the chef is very capable, the food is delicious regardless of portion size, but sadly the portion sizes are generally disappointing. The telephone ordering service is excellent, the chap who answers the phone and takes orders is genuinely as professional as it gets.
