Disappointed, I donāt even want to give it one star but zero is not an option. We have been regular visitors and had thought that the rudeness of the previous landlords was a thing of the past. Sadly, tonight, we were proved wrong. The bar manager needs to learn some people skills. A group of 10 of us went this afternoon to begin celebrations for my birthday with the intention of spending a couple of hours having a pleasant drink. About an hour after arriving two members of staff brought a large table over to the area in which we were sitting and interrupted the conversation we were having, the female staff member asked if it was okay to put it where we were sitting. We asked for it not to be put there as it would make the seating awkward and some people would have been blocked in. The male member of staff told us that it was going there anyway as that was āwhere it belongedā and proceeded to shove it in place. When we asked politely if it could just be put back when we left he snapped āno, because as I said thatās where it belongs. Itās table one and (pointing to the tables we were already sat at) thatās two and thatās three so itās staying!ā After another request from us and another surprisingly angry outburst from him, I must admit, through sheer frustration at his lack of empathy, I swore at him. Once. Neither I, nor anyone else from the party said anything else to any member of staff and we could not complain about the specific member of staffs attitude seeing as it was the manager who had been abusive towards us! I must admit Iām sorely disappointed at the way he spoke to us, as if he didnāt care less about the fact we were having a good time and spending money in the establishment he worked in. Undoubtedly he has his own side of the story considering the response from the owners on a review my son has left and I commend them for standing by their member of staff but that only works when you actually have BOTH sides of the story. Whether you care or not (as seems the case from your response on the previous said review) youāve lost a lot of custom. Youāll probably try and turn it back around on us and say that we were abusive to your staff, but we only reacted in kind..... Yours, ten paying customers of which two ran their own pub and 4 others have...

I have visited this public house many times over the past six years. The food was usually mediocre⦠This time I was blown away. It was a quiet afternoon. I heard about three dishes for £15..(British Tapas) I ordered garlic Mushrooms on toast, (sublime), Tempura Prawn and salad, Nachos and chilli and the expectant glass of Chardonnay.
The bar man was working alone, he presented the food with pride which is always good to see. You have to visit this gem near the airport. Parking is in abundance across the road from the public house. The prices are very reasonable, excellent quality food.. Top marks! I may have found a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCalled in for Sunday Lunch today as have not yet tried under new ownership and live locally. Was very impressed. Itās obvious that everything is cooked fresh and with generous portions too. The meat was ample (I had belly pork, husband Beef), great Yorkshires, roasties, stuffing and veggies. We ordered extra roasties because obvs. Roasties!! We were utterly stuffed so didnāt manage any other courses but the rest of the non-Sunday menu looks quite extensive and tasty. And it looks like they serve Sunday dinner until 7pm just in case you want it did your tea instead! Friendly staff too. Would very...
