First time trying here and I would go again. The service here like mentioned on other reviews is second to none. The food is also great, every course/dish is unbelievably piping hot so you know it's all very fresh. All members of staff take a lot of pride in their work here which is very refreshing to see these days. The only negative is that prices are rather high which would be okay if food was reflective of this however the rice in both rice dishes we had was a bit too stodgy as if it had a bit too much starch remaining. I have been to other places that suit this price range and unfortunately sweet basil valley fall just short of this. However it's not to say it's a good place to visit as it definitely is. I will be returning.

My friend spoke highly of this place and took me there during my visit in Leeds... And I'm glad he did! From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and you get the sense that you are about to be looked after...The service was very attentive throughout the evening. The food was absolutely magnificent... Every single dish. To my surprise (in a place like this) I had one of the best Malbec wines ever. Well furnished and clean environment. It is obvious that the owner has paid a lot of attention to the overall detail... Which explains a full restaurant on a Wednesday night. I visited again after 5 years approximately and my experience was as great as before. Congratulations - Keep up the great job you are doing!

Having read the reviews on the Sweet Basil site I fail to understand what’s been said. My daughters ordered 4 takeaway meals Saturday evening to celebrate my 78th Birthday and was expecting some delicious food from the reviews….What a disappointment. I ordered the Special Fried Rice with Chicken, Prawns and Pork (61) on the menu. This was the driest tasteless meal meal I have had at a cost of over £13, my daughter’s having the same experience also with their orders. The No.61 had two small pieces of Chicken chopped-up Pork so small you had to search for it and two Prawns all tasteless mixed in with the dry rice. I do not know what the whole bill was as they would not say but defiantly NOT worth the price.

Very well presented specious restaurant with polite attentive staff. The restaurant has an extensive menu serving Chinese, Thai and Cantonese food. There is dedicated and ample parking. Good for large groups.

We visited shortly after opening at 5pm. We were greeted and shown to our table courtiously. Our food was brought to us promptly and it was served hot. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meel and we were offered containers to take away what we had left.

The good nature of the staff was tested to the full by our two over excited children but the service was never compromised.

Sweet Basil Valley has a "made without gluten" menu but as with most restaurants they cannot guarantee food is 100% gluten free as it is prepared alongside other non gluten free meals.

I highly rate Sweet Basil Valley and I gave it a 4* rating. As with most places there is alway room for some improvement. This is a large restaurant and I think the atmosphere could be improved with music or a water feature. The restaurant's most recent refurbishment has made it significantly better than...

We've dined at this establishment for many years, a venue we have enjoyed for special family occasions or just a couples night out until now, We will not be returning. The service was appalling, blunt and almost offensive order taking, the food was, at best, edible but massively over salted and lacking flavour. In essence the food was bland and boring. If all this wasn't enough I watched the 'waiter' reset a nearby table following the departure of the diners. He held the forks and spoons in one hand and then placed them on the table with the other by holding the prongs of the fork and the bowl of the spoon, on completion he wandered off wiping his nose with his hand. Disgusting. The 10% service charge had been added to our excessive bill ( this really is a pet hate for me, I'll decide if the service warrants a tip!) I removed this cost and, when asked if we'd enjoyed our meal I shared the above information. The lady smiled back and announced that was unfortunate and not what they'd like before taking payment...

been here before so new food was nice and seating nice. firstly was sat next to kitchen and asked to move to an exact same size empty table but was told it was booked. didn't see the problem as it was same size table and we was first and the table was empty. we ordered salt and pepper squid which was greasy and squidgy. I was served sweet and sour which was so sweet i couldn't finish the dish. the balance was so off. it should be even with sour. but it just tasted like a bowl of sugar. too sweet. I've eaten sweet and sour loads and it just wasn't right. prices are expensive for sitting next to kitchen, we had no trees over hanging our table. just kitchen staring us in face. the table should be make in to a waiting area as its too close to kitchen. it gives no resturaunt feel does that table. everyone else sat with the lovely blossom tree overhanging while the corner table by the kitchen is cold and faces countless staff coming in and out. and you see food prep going on also. not...
