Lovely local pub with great food and really friendly staff. Popped in here on the way to visit family. Starters we had were garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and prawn cocktail. All delicious. Only slight was the wife felt like there were too many prawns??? Never a bad thing in my book. Me an our son had the scampi and chips, wife had the pork Sunday dinner. They do not scrimp on the portions here. Maybe we shouldn't of had the starters as we just couldn't finish. Great variety of veg on the Sunday dinner and everything was hot and stayed hot while you were eating your meal. There is nothing worse than eating "warm" food in a hurry in my opinion. This food was excellent. The roast potatoes just melted in you mouth, I had to nick one of the wife's 😉. Three satisfied customers. Great service, great food and very reasonably priced. Definitely will go back.

A cosy inviting pub. A great selection of food and well cooked and well presented. The peri-peri chicken wrap was hot, hot, hot but as it should be and very crispy chips with the skin on. Even better was the unexpected bonus of a drink for £1 extra! Some restrictions on this but still a great choice. The biscoff sundae was HUGE as well as delicious although not good for my waistline. Accompanied by coffee! All for well under £20. Easy parking and a great selection of music playing, which was at a pleasant volume which makes a change in a public place. Excellent customer service and attentive without being in your face! Well worth a visit.

Staff were really friendly, the food was really good. The let down was that we wanted a cocktail, when we asked for a long island iced tea we were told that they didn't do it anymore and it just hadn't been taken off the menu. We looked for another cocktail and was told that it was not known as a cocktail bar so couldn't have one. The removable sign on the bar behind her that was advertising Cocktails makes us think the staff that were on that night just didn't know how to make them. Such a shame and disappointment.

Popped in on Sunday for a late lunch. There was six of us in all - four ordered Sunday roasts and two orders for burgers. The beef roast dinners were really good - came with roasties, green beans, nice roasted carrots, Yorkshire pudding, a carrot and swede mash and red cabbage. I ordered a side of buttery mash and some cauliflower cheese to share too which was delicious. It's a great home-style roast dinner with good portion sizes - we were all suitably full afterwards! The burgers - which came with cheese and bacon - plus fries and a really tangy barbecue dip on the side were also really good with nice juicy patties not just your standard dried out pub burger. We were served by Nikki the pub manager who was as welcoming and friendly as always and made this a very pleasant and great value for money alternative to cooking a roast at home. Good choice of draft lagers too - including current favourite Madri and IPA Beavertown Neck Oil. If you fancy a tasty, home-made style roast dinner with all the trimmings coupled with a cosy atmoshere you can't go far...

Went for dinner with my 3 yr old son last week. Although they dont have a kids menu they had a few items that they could do for kids and he choose fish and chips. They did a nice half size fish and chips for him, very fresh tasting, nice tartare and mushy peas and and well presented. I had a burger with cheese which was good too, could taste nd fresh rosemary in the burger and garnish was good. The boy had a nice big slice of chocolate brownie with choc sauce for pud, it was a little charred on the bottom, he didnt notice and it still tasted good with the choc sauce and a few fresh rasberries as garnish. I had another pint for pud as it has been recently taken over by wharfeBank Brewery and has a couple of good guest ales on at the mo. 'Easy Rider' and 'Wispa' IPA, both very moreish! Would def go again, might even let the girls come...
