Came here recently with an old friend for some lunch. We were not disappointed! She had a blue light card and was able to get 10% off our bill. The place was not busy at all and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We shared the calamari and nachos for starters which was all lovely. I had the bacon and mushroom pasta for lunch which was delicious and I would definitely recommend, my friend had the steak sandwich which she also enjoyed but was abit dry. Delicious cocktails and some of the cheapest I’ve seen in the area. I will definitely be returning to try more of the menu !

It's a great little place, parking a bit restricted but once inside it's a very friendly pub staff are friendly and there is a good choice of beers/lagar, as for the food a wide variety from vegetarian, vegan and of course omiverous to , there also a children's section, it's also dog friendly , and a beer garden/patio + 1 TV if you're into sports. All in all a nice place Big improvements with the refurbishment, all new decor, tables , seating ect , come and have a look.

Food was good for the whole group except my steak. The rib eye was the most expensive, but it was over 50% gristle. I mentioned this, and at first was told that's what Rib eye is meant to be like. On inspection they agreed to cook a new one which was actually perfect, although everyone else had finished. Average score for the initial reply. Would score higher otherwise.

I attended a meal with my friends, where we had pre-booked a table, and there were 6 of us. I had ordered lasagne, and unfortunately upon, receiving my meal, it was very very burnt, it was a congealed mess covered with melted cheese. Underneath, 80% of the lasagne was hard to touch, and pretty much inedible. Of course, I had to send this back, because I simply could not eat it. This meal did in the end get swapped out for hunters chicken, however upon (very) politely complaining, the member of staff told me “that is the best part” which is laughable to the point where it’s the most unhelpful comment to make at a customer receiving poor quality food and had no apology to offer me at all for the standard of food that I received, had this happened at my local ember inns, the staff would have been lovely. The staff member told me if I wanted a replacement I would have to wait because they are low on staff, but I did not have a choice, i can’t describe how inedible this bowl of lasagne was. It is not helpful for a member of staff to insinuate I would have to wait a while because I’m choosing to send it back . My friend had also received her meal way after everyone else because it got missed. It’s not worth the money for staff who aren’t able to show empathy over customers who just want a value for money meal, and who are very polite about it. Apart from that all my friends meals were perfect, it’s a shame I had...

Arrived for lunch, ordered a crispy chicken wrap which came covered in an unedable sauce, the chicken was cooked chicken and not crispy chicken, I asked to return this uneaten and to exchange this for a sandwich of the same price of £5.99, a member of staff then informed us we would have to pay an extra £2.99 on top of the £5.99 I had already payed as argued that there was nothing wrong the chicken wrap and that we didn’t read the menu right when ordering, she continued to argue and disagree with me at the bar over wanting an extra £2.99, it got to the point where other customers were starting to stare at her disgraceful and rude manner, Mitchell and butler you should be ashamed at yourselves, if a meal is returned uneaten for whatever reason I really don’t think you should be asking customers to pay more money towards a replacement of the same price, will certainly not be returning to be spoken to by the very rude female staff member that you choose to employ and argue with customers, I’ve also read other reviews from other customers and can see that she has a very clever attitude when replying to reviews, will be finding another pub with more...

We arrived at 5.50pm on Boxing day 2022. ''Have you got a booking ?'' What ever happened to ''good evening, how can we help ?''

''Name ? Your on seat number 5 near the fireplace'' Really, could you have been any less helpful ? Could you not at least have tried to hide your very obvious disdain ? Could you not have shown us to our table ? The table itself isn't directly viewable from the bar. Where is the fireplace ?

We were made to feel very uncomfortable. We had hoped for a more private table ( we made this request upon booking online ) I accept that wasn't possible for ''licensing reasons'', though you could have made this clear when I rang Kerry the manager, to change our booking in order that we might accomodate our eleven year old daughter.

The table itself was surrounded by others, though despite being less than ideal we decided to stay. It was only when we turned around and saw the very unwelcoming countenance first witnessed upon our arrival, that we told them we were cancelling the booking. I can't help feeling that the lady in question felt in some way vindicated. We went elsewhere and the contrast couldn't have...
