Everyone local raves about this place, so of course I tried it out. I see nothing special, the food is nothing to write home about. It is fine, it fills you up it tastes ok, but to be honest it's hardly worth the trip or the price.

Same goes for the service, the fake smile, the lack of speed, the interrupting before you've barely had a bite with the "everything ok for you" all basic and just standard.

The atmosphere was the most disappointing, I expected a little upbeat town pub, nope, most of it felt put on and the locals gave it a mortuary feel.

All in all, yeah go there for a place to eat and have a drink but the local hype is a facade...

I've been a regular at The Brewers for many years & highly recommend a visit. Located in Lewes High Street (where the road narrows to 1-way operation controlled by traffic lights) the front bar is a cosy smallish room. Head to the right & through a door to a much larger room at the back. Tends to be quieter here & little bit soulless. Fantastic changing range of real cask ales. Mostly local brews but will also source from around UK. Food is recommended; nothing pretentious, but delicious & hearty. Lewes is blessed with many superb pubs & pub crawls around Lewes town centre can be very rewarding🍺👍 Include The Brewers Arms as a...

By far and away, and without a shadow of a doubt the WORST pub food I’ve had for many years! I ordered a lasagna, it was a tiny slice, dry as a bone, and molten hot as I suspect it was a left over from the day before that had been microwaved to blistering heat.

Disappointing is a generous understatement! I will now have to go to the chippy across the road as I’m nowhere near full.

It is worth noting that I payed £16 for the disgusting lasagna and a mediocre drink. A rip off!

Could not recommend less! There are so many wonderful pubs in Lewes, so many better options. Don’t...

Love it love it......food excellent, staff friendly, quick service, comfortable traditional pub. Two rooms out back for pool, front of house for quiet public drinking. Love the carpets, curtains the real ales which includes Harvey's Best Bitter which is well kept. A time capsual.of how pubs should be. Chilli and rice home made, roast of pork and chicken was amazing. No need to book a table even on Sundays, serving food until 8pm. Sit and have a pint hearing church bells nearby is quintessential England. Locals chatty...check this out.

I went to this pub to escape from a heavy rain. The staff was friendly and the the atmosphere good. I got a tea and fish and chips. The food was the worst part of my experience... I paid for it 13£ and the fish was very small and had a funny part which was inedible, the "mushy" peas looked like just defrost green peas. The chips were surely defrost too. I guess the pub might be fine for a beer but I wouldn't go back for fish and chips for sure.

A first visit by Casta and Madge. I think I have been before. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular. Up to 8 real ales, six on my visit. Had the awful Kent brewery Pale.( Kent being toxic to a Sussex born Prince like me!) Actually very good. The front room was busy, the rear pool room quiet. Apparently been a pub from at leadt 1744.
