A very down-to-earth pub in the style of a traditional community social centre. No frills, no pretence, just fair prices to ensure that their Regulars remain loyal. Catch Wendy when she's on duty (she's a riot) ... if you've a sensitive nature them before 1pm when the Swear Box rules. An overhead projector and multiple screens cover live sport and other feeds, all discreetly broadcasted so as not to be intrusive. The landlord puts up plates of bar snacks on Sunday lunchtimes; now that's a tradition that modern pubs seem to have forgotten and could well learn from. I went in after the football (I'm not into big crowds or football) was a great atmosphere and friendly chatter. Standard selection of drinks at the bar. So something for everyone.

one of the roughest pubs I've ever visited. everyone spending there job seekers or disability benefit on booze. very loud, shouting & screaming. shame about the locals dragging this pub down and landlord...
