Delhi 6 Restaurant — Restaurant in Lichfield

This is the 2nd time we had visited Delhi 6 and the food remained excellent! We did however encounter a problem when the bill was presented....

We had a Groupon voucher for a meal for 2 and prior to attending Delhi 6 we read the small print that said that credit cards wouldn't be accepted for bills less than £30.

When we received our bill for the extras we ordered ( circa £17), we tried to pay by debit card. We were then told that as it was a 'small restaraunt' they didn't accept debit cards either for amounts less than £30 as 'they incur a charge'. This was followed by 'there is a cash point at the end of the road.

By now people were staring and I had to suffer the embarrassment of walking out to the cash point to get cash.

Visited the Delhi 6 restaurant recently on a Saturday evening and I can actually say the food is in a league of its own!. The waiters are well presented, well mannered individuals who not only provide a great service but also are approachable and can have a great conversation with!. I was treated with a VIP service and the food looked fantastic and tasted as equal too!. I tried the Scallops in Saffron Sauce as a starter and as a main I had the Lamb shank which had fantastic smell/flavours and as for dessert I was recommended by the waiter to have a beetroot with Raspberry sorbet sweet-dish which was unusual but very tasty. Visited for my wife's birthday. Food beautiful and at 3 courses for £17.95 it's great value. Fish stater was beautiful as was the lamb main. . First bottle of prosecco was nearly finished before ice bucket was provided sadly. Service was a little brusque at times and the waiter kept leaning over one of the party which was a little unprofessional. Having a round table with access to part if it being difficult did not help.
