Finally, a cosy, classy and friendly coffee shop/ bar that has it all in Sutton Coldfield….great wine, craft beer, cocktails and cakes.
Location: Located in Streetly Village within Little Aston, it has free parking in front and plenty of off-road parking to the side (not that you’ll want to drive) :-)
Drinks: A great selection of wines and craft beers which you can help yourself too, they call them the wine and beer walls, you get given a card which you put credit on, you then use that card to help yourself to whatever you like. They have about 20 bottles of wine and half a dozen craft beers that you can choose from. A fantastic idea, no more queuing at the bar to get your drinks (they do provide table service for cocktails etc..).
Service: It’s like walking into your friend’s home, that’s how they make you feel. The 2 brothers that run the bar are extremely friendly and hospitable. It’s the local you’ve always wanted, they remember your name and your favourite drinks and make you feel very welcome.
This bar will appeal to everyone, family’s, laptop workers (I love working here with a coffee and cake in the day when I can), wine and beer enthusiasts through to people wanting to pop in before or after a meal. Keep an eye out for their food events. I went to their Barbadian & Greek ones and they were amazing!
This is a must visit for all, highly...
Read moreWorth a visit as a coffee place as well as a bar!
I recently visited this establishment on a Sunday during the day, around 11.30am. I haven't tried the alcohol or food so can only comment in the coffee shop element.
I find the building to be modern, nice and very clean while also respecting the traditional character of the tudor building.
They play great background music.
Likewise the menu is written in a easy format, prices for coffee and cake are fair and the staff are friendly.
I enjoyed my coffee, it was of good taste, a good size and fair cost.
The cake selection is very good and the homemade cakes are much better than what other places class as home made. They also sell some non-homemade varieties that I've had before and am greatful for them serving.
I had a latte and chocolate orange goo cake. Considering I've been looking for a place that serves this I'm very happy to have found it. It came with some fresh strawberries that were lovely.
The place has around 18 seats down stairs, a staffed bar and further seating upstairs with self service wine and beers.
Always busy on an evening so I recommend you call in advance but definitely worth a visit as a coffee...
Read moreWhen this first opened as a bar it was amazing, they have done so much work to it and the outside area is great except it has become a glorified smoking shelter now. We like to go for a drink after work and sit under the shelter and put on the fires when we need to. There is a very expensive cover and sides which has made it a really nice place to go in the cold and rain. We can still do that but as non-smokers there's nowhere to escape from cigarette smoke and as the tables and chairs are so close together it has become very unpleasant. Last week every single table was full of people smoking and it was horrible. I don't want to be miserable but we will find somewhere else if people continue to smoke under cover. There's lots of space where smokers can stand outside the shelter, is it possible to make it a non-smoking drinking...
