Come here quite often and the food is spot and and service is usually great, but went last night and the service was poor. The waitress with the dyed ginger hair and glasses was really bad. Miserable and very inattentive. Not once asked if we needed any more drinks, started clearing up the kids plates when they were still eating, started clearing the table while there were people still eating their mains and seemed like we were being rushed off the table. Wouldn't mind but we hadn't even been there long. Will continue to go because it's usually spot on but she left me fuming last night.
Update
Seems to be going down the pan a bit. Service poor again. Ordered the mixed kebab which comes with rice, and also ordered a side of chips. Confirmed it 3 times with the waiter because he kept reading it back wrong and it still came out with the chips in place of the rice. When I raised it to another waiter, I was told there was no rice left, and then saw them bring two kebabs out to another table 10 minutes later, both of which had rice. The food wasn't up to the normal standard we've had there either The lamb was tough and for some reason they've stopped putting the grilled peppers on the kebabs. You need to spend some time training your waiting staff because that's twice in two visits we've had poor service now. Regular customer who probably won't...
Read moreIt was the worst dinner ever in my life! The shef clearly has problems understanding the moderation of salt in dishes! It all started with the fact that in our favorite Turkish restaurant Elif on Lark Line Street there was no table for our family. My husband remembered that there is another restaurant Elif, we thought it was one organization, but unfortunately we were mistaken. At first, there was nothing that did not foretell that the evening would be spoiled, but then the waitress said that they did not have the Turkish drink Ayran, I was very surprised and upset. Then we asked for a fresh beer on tap, but were again refused. We had to order a bottled beer. For dinner, we ordered a mix of kebabs for two. After half an hour of waiting, they brought us a long wooden board on which meat and rice were on cheap non-tasty flatbreads from £ 1 land, and the juice flowed directly onto the table. After tasting the rice, I choked, it was so salty that even beer did not save the situation. Chicken wings and ribs were fried to coals, and the minced kebab was also very salty. We were hungry and late for the Novruz party, so we could not go to another restaurant, we had to eat this tasteless meal for £ 50. I want to warn everyone, do not confuse this big Elif restaurant with a small one. These are two different restaurants under exactly...
Read moreFrom the moment me and Kyle walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special. The warm welcome, authentic atmosphere, and the aroma of freshly grilled food instantly set the tone.
Every dish was packed with flavour – from the mezze starters bursting with freshness, to the perfectly seasoned kebabs that were cooked to absolute perfection. The bread came out warm and fluffy, straight from the oven, and the dips were so moreish we could have eaten them on their own.
What really makes this place stand out is the balance between quality and portion size – you never leave hungry, yet everything tastes fresh and homemade rather than heavy. The staff treat you like family, checking in just the right amount without being intrusive, and making sure every detail is spot on.
Whether it’s a cosy date night or a family meal, this restaurant hits the mark every single time. Turkish food done properly – hearty, authentic, and full of soul.
We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended to anyone who loves food that feels both comforting and exciting at...
