Ok.. We have been here several times in the last 12 months (and over the years) here are my thoughts... If you want a cheap meal then this is the place for you. Don't expect a gold star service because you won't get one. If you find a clean table you have just won the 5ways lottery because they are one in a million, unless your one of the first customers of the day then its clean. We visited here last week. There are signs up re Covid, hand sanitiser at the door, separate entrance & exit & screens between some of the tables. I was impressed & we were off to a good start.... That's where it ended! We went in there were several tables to choose from all we're dirty! We sat down & had to ask staff to clean the table, which they did with the usual spray & dirty rag? Why I am still here at this point... but I wanted food & hoped it would get better. We ordered food & drink via the app. First to arrive was 2 pints, One in a dirty glass which still had lipstick on from a previous customer. That was sent back to be changed. Food arrived, it was hot but that's where it ended the rice was in dried clumps where they didn't shake the bag whilst cooking or after taking it out of the microwave. There were loads of flies in the seating area & I decided that if this was the cleanest part of this establishment as its the public area then I didn't want to see anywhere else. I will not be visiting this place again, considering everywhere is supposed to be cleaner following covid, I believe 5ways have gone backwards & believe it or not it was cleaner before lockdown..... Never thought...

Used to love coming her before the pandemic, great place for a cheap drink and solid meal. After a couple years of avoiding I stopped by today as I was in the area.

The whole place was filthy top to bottom, flies buzzing, filthy tables, days of grime. I appreciate it’s a Monday after a big weekend but it was quiet. No effort was made to clean anything. This place was always disgusting but after all we’ve been through you’d think they would be on top of it now.

Got some mains which were an absolute 0/10, everything tasted a week old, stale falling apart bun, tasteless chicken burger, wilted lettuce. My partner had the half chicken and it was grey and well past it’s best, not at all fresh. I can only imagine the state of the walk in.

Absolutely nothing like it used to be, even on off days before the food was always solid.

I was offered a filthy glass with my bottle, lipstick and everything. didn’t bother asking for another.

Shocking, put me off spoons for good, I managed to go 2 years without going to one, let’s see if I can make that 10. Probably ok if you just want a cheap dirty drink but don’t eat here.

Staff were lovely and great as always, not their fault. Mgmt need to sit down and eat what I ate and sit where I sat, then give themselves a kick up...

This is a pub, diner, easy parking, ish, (see below on pay for parking) / easy access, ish, family friendly, ish, (see below on getting a table) but has steps to get in, not good for disabled/elderly, plus side, outside seating, good food and selection - (very good sunday lunch, choice and price) - it's a pick a table, get number and order at bar pub - staff are good, friendly and welcoming, helpful, good beers, lagers, wines and spirits, ok tea or coffee, soft drinks - it's enjoyable - Down side, pay to park, claim back at bar when ordering - always alot of staff serving at bar, few clearing tables, so, customers often have to clear themselves to get the table, as quite often have had to wait to get one, which is a pain at the best of times, but with kids and elderly/disabled , or group (to get big enough table)- (no prebook available), you get a lot of large tables taken with just 1 or 2 men just enjoying a pint, watching sports or just chatting, which is fine, but, there is no set aside area for dining - soft drinks are expensive, tea/coffee you get yourself from a machine. - But, the food is very good,...

I have visited the Childwall Fiveways a few times recently and each visit. On one of these occasions, I took my mum for a bite to eat and drink. The menu has lots to offer for snacks and mains and can be bought late into the night when most pubs have finished serving food. I would recommend here for a quick bite to eat or to spend the evening with friends. The selection of beers and spirits is quite comprehensive and being a Weatherspoons pub, the prices are very low. We ordered for mum, a medium sized pizza with chips and I ordered the large mixed grill. The portion sizes were large and we were both impressed with the value for money of our chosen meal Overall, it is a good pub with bar meals at a reasonable price. The Childwall Fiveways Hotel is named after the five exits on the roundabout. It is a large comfortable wetherspoons with a wide choice of beers lager and cider including five hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The service was very quick and efficient the staff are very friendly. I had the full English breakfast which was very good. There are some good photographs of George Harrison on the wall. There is a nice outside seating area and a pay and display car park. Take your ticket into the pub and receive a parking refund on your order.
