The Childwall Fiveways Hotel - JD Wetherspoon

Ok.. We have been here several times in the last 12 months (and over the years) here are my thoughts... If you want a cheap meal then this is the place for you. Don't expect a gold star service because you won't get one. If you find a clean table you have just won the 5ways lottery because they are one in a million, unless your one of the first customers of the day then its clean. We visited here last week. There are signs up re Covid, hand sanitiser at the door, separate entrance & exit & screens between some of the tables. I was impressed & we were off to a good start.... That's where it ended! We went in there were several tables to choose from all we're dirty! We sat down & had to ask staff to clean the table, which they did with the usual spray & dirty rag? Why I am still here at this point... but I wanted food & hoped it would get better. We ordered food & drink via the app. First to arrive was 2 pints, One in a dirty glass which still had lipstick on from a previous customer. That was sent back to be changed. Food arrived, it was hot but that's where it ended the rice was in dried clumps where they didn't shake the bag whilst cooking or after taking it out of the microwave. There were loads of flies in the seating area & I decided that if this was the cleanest part of this establishment as its the public area then I didn't want to see anywhere else. I will not be visiting this place again, considering everywhere is supposed to be cleaner following covid, I believe 5ways have gone backwards & believe it or not it was cleaner before lockdown..... Never thought I'd say that!
