Ali's Kitchen - Dagenham — Restaurant in London

I do not usually write reviews however this is one worth writing. Me and my Family decided to visit Ali’s Kitchen today, as It was my second time eating here (Fairly new). The service provided by our kind waitress, completely forgot to ask for her name but she was wearing a Pink top and Sliders, Tall and Slim. The service provided by herself to my family and my mother was one like no other. The food is delicious and compared to many other Turkish places i’ve been to before moving to the Dagenham area, the platters here are extremely generous and filling. We were served quickly, and our waiter was so happy and jolly. Something you don’t see much these days, this made the experience just that bit better. She gave my mother a extra at the end on the house which my mum really liked at Ali’s, can’t recall what side it was, but we were so pleased with our experience here today at Ali’s 01/10/23 - Workers here are so patient and respectful especially when serving you. Really disappointed. Ordered a prawn meal where we specifically requested no onions in the whole meal - salad, prawns and rice. Collected the food and was really disappointed to see onions everywhere, only salad was prepared without onions. When phoned the place to question this got told that they only heard no onions in the salad and completely refused to discuss anything else. When I tried to explain that’s this is not what we have ordered I basically got told that there is nothing else that they can do as they only heard salad and blamed me for putting the wrong order through. Also when picking up the order we heard how the guys were talking to the customers in front of us saying that it’s busy and they’re rushing a lot which makes them miss loads of stuff. My Friday night is ruined, unfortunately as I’m allergic to onions, I wasn’t able to eat any of the food that I’ve ordered. Wasn’t offered an apology or to swap the food - worst customer service I’ve experienced. Really rude staff. I got blamed because they didn’t understand my order properly. Money wasted. I’ll start off with the positives. Everything was packaged well and presented well. The rice and bulgar was cooked to perfection. Chips were hot and crispy. Its almost a novelty to get hot crispy chips from a takeaway these days: The delivery was very quick. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. The mixed kebab priced at a hefty £16.50 was over cooked. I opted for the chicken shish and lamb kofte. I’ve never had chicken shish that dry before. The chicken was palatable mixed with the bulgar and “chilli sauce.” The chilli sauce tasted like garlic pepper paste and nothing else. The lamb kofte was clearly seasoned with peppers, herbs and spices. But it was so over cooked that it tasted like dry charcoal. The bread looked like it would have been lovely fresh. But unfortunately it was so stale that it made a snapping sound when I broke it. This is not the cheapest place to offer Turkish kebabs. The reviews are pretty good too.
