Mixed feelings.

We went for a Sunday roast after it being reccomended. Parking was the first issue as it was so busy, not their fault as they only have so much capacity and obviously a very popular spot. The lido car park wasn't taking card payment so we couldn't park there either and the garden centre wouldn't let us park there. We eventually found a space 10 minutes after our booking time. Maybe you can pre book the valet parking - or maybe it is first come first served?

The welcome host was so lovely and the venue is beautiful, we were sat in the side bar which is smaller not as beautiful as the flower garden and very hot. We ordered through the app - you're asked to tip there before receiving food or service and this is optional so I decided to wait and tip around the end as per normal experience. We tipped as always after ordering extra drinks at the end, otherwise I expect you could leave cash for your server.

My starter was pate and was very tasty loved the onion marmalade.

The rare beef roast was divine, the ultimate roast was even better. The pork, lamb beef, chicken and slow cooked beef was so so good. They gave us a jug of gravy! Thank you! Finally a place where you don't have to worry about a gravy shortage. The roast potatoes were delish, as was the stuffing, pigs in blankets and broccoli and cauliflower cheese. Personal opinion but the carroway seeds on the carrotts was not to my taste.

The dessert I had to ask for as it never came and I felt we had been forgotten. Even though our area had cleared out by this point 4pm - we ordered a creme brulee with the Nutella suprise. It wasn't something I felt went well together. But the presentation was beautiful.

I would go back but I wouldn't go at 2pm.on a Sunday which seems to be a very busy time for them. Hope next time will be smoother and we will get the service for the...

Went here with my nephew for a Sunday Roast... Food was great value (we both opted for the Beef Roast as it was strangely cheaper than the other options- normally it's more expensive)... Everything was well cooked and presented and we ate everything on our plates, apart from the cauliflower cheese! Please, can you give an option to delete this or provide an alternative? Service was so-so... It was very busy and on many occasions, we needed to call a member of staff to serve us.. and even afterwards, we still needed to call them for a second time... The maitre d' apologized and removed the service charge from our bill (we didn't know there was one) as well as removing the cost of the soft drink my nephew ordered (he was the 'designated driver' on this outing'!) As far as the atmosphere goes, this is my personal opinion: I found it a bit over done... With the over styled tables and hanging indoor plants and music playing in the background (I hate music playing when I'm eating as it distracts from the food! And kind of tells the diner to hurry up and eat up)... Personally, when I go for a roast Sunday dinner, I like a more old fashioned country pub, with no music, and you can see the farmer who reared the beef in his Wellington Boots stood at the bar! But that's just wishful thinking! The food was great, service so-so, and the atmosphere was not to my taste... But I'd still recommend it and would happily visit again: It's a clean, hygienic placeand the food is well made and great value and a pleasure to eat... Just hoped for somewhat better service (for which they apologized), and that they didn't play music (I already explained why I don't like music whilst I'm eating) and was a bit more in the countryside! But...

A really disappointing evening at Arens Bar. We were a family of 6 celebrating an early Mother’s Day meal. On arrival, the music was full blast and I asked to be seated in a quiet area as we had a baby in our party. The waiter seemed to forget this and when we asked again, he advised the music was stopping at 5.30, which to be fair, it did.

There is a button for service, but despite this, the service was slow throughout. We repeatedly had empty glasses, having finished the bottle. We had to switch drinks as the wine we wanted had run out (despite being 100ft or so from Majestic). We seemed continuously to be waiting to catch the eye of a waiter.

We were still eating our starters when the waiter started trying to give us our mains (it was not like there was only one eating, we had only had the starters for 5 minutes). The waitress did admit this was a mistake and apologised. The food (unlike previous visits) was only so so, and the steak was the smallest we had ever seen, despite what is a high price relative to the local area.

We rushed to leave as the children were getting distressed, and there were a number of incorrect items on the bill. We were charged for the onion ring tower which never arrived and also for the child’s ice cream which should have been in the price of the child’s meal. We were not offered any discount/concession and we didn’t say anything because we just wanted to get out of there.

All in all, a real disappointment and I could only apologise to my mum and sister in law, for whom this visit should have been a treat, but in all actuality, it was just an all...

Incredible not only is this place stunningly designed, with plenty of indoor or outdoor seating there are various areas to enjoy and the bar has clearly invested significantly to create comfortable spaces for their patrons. With a hookah area separated from the main area, this is a kid free zone and for over 18’s only. With plenty of seating and some tv’s to watch the latest sports etc. various flavours to try too. The main seating area was well designed and had great displays of flora although faux it really softened the atmosphere to make it feel like a relaxing garden. It was a really nice touch to have the benches upholstered, just shows the level of detail they’ve considered for their guests comfort. The table call system is a triumph it works spectacularly and your waiting staff are with you in record time! The staff were attentive and friendly. Food… omg the food was coming out in record time. I would however point out our staters arrived and not even five mins later so did our mains, which meant we had a lot of plates on the go at once rather than just enjoying each course. That is the only very slight negative. The food was delicious and really flavoursome, the meats were cooked to absolute perfection and was juicy and moist which is great… I mean no one likes dry meats. Everything about this place gets a thumbs up from me… I highly recommend and it’s a definite place to return to. Whether you are passing through or a local you cannot go wrong. Visit I assure you, you will not be disappointed! Thank you to the waiting team, chefs and managers for a truly lovely evening.

What a fab pretty place with such excellent waiting staff and management! And the food was delicious! We got truffle chips with cheese and you know the place is good when the cheese isn’t just at the top but all the way through! Ahhh divine! We went on a day they had the grinch visiting, it was a bit noisy with lots of kids running around but our toddler felt like she could also loosen up and get involved in the excitement. I imagine on a day when they don’t have a guest appearance it’s nothing like that. We got to spend enough time talking to the grinch and taking pictures with him without feeling like we didn’t get enough of his time. The staff were beyond friendly and incredibly hospitable. They apologised before we even got to our seat for the noisy environment that night and even though they were incredibly busy they never lacked in service at any point. When we left the manager was seating other guests but she still made a point to say, thank you for visiting to every customer as they left. When we first arrived there were quite a few cars blocked trying to get in and out but we saw a young staff member come out to help manoeuvre the cars. Honestly they did incredibly well on what was clearly a very hectic night. It wasnt a cheap at £90 for 2 and a half of us but it was memorable and we had a lovely time. Can’t wait to return! So glad we discovered this place !

Very inviting exterior and welcoming staff showed us to our table. The interior is a cross between the Amazon forest and a wedding reception and is good for the atmosphere that it creates. Décor overall all is interesting and a little whacky and it works really well. The menu has plenty of choices meat and meat-free wise. Portions are generous, prices on par with other restaurants and a decent choice of drinks. The pork tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly and was a welcome change to the usual dishes that are usually on offer. Everyone inn our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the burgers were nice and lean, chips in sensible, non-greasy portions. It was my nephew’s birthday so we took along a small cake, were able to light candles but were unable to eat it due to their policy, perhaps a cutting charge could be considered? Though having said that, service was swift and friendly. Most were to full for desserts but there is always a couple that found some space! It does get very busy so would recommend booking, earlier rather than later. All in all, a nice venue for a family get together, and would definitely go there again.
