Really love this small local pub. Really welcoming not over crowded. One of the best small Beer gardens I've been to. Beautifully decorated with flowers and edible grapes. Very stunning. Beer and service is great. Great place for small families or quiet drink. Staff are very approachable and friendly, who are easy to talk to. Cocktails are really good and they garnish and present classics like Pims very well, with lots of summer fruits. It is quite small inside but in my opinion gives it more of a character. Food choices is very limited and they only serve this on the week days. Ranging mainly from sandwiches to Jacket potatos and Afternoon teas. Really great find. Will easily become my local. Just found out the garden was decorated by a local customer, who does it as a hobby and maintains it. Worth it just to see this of course with a drink in your hand!😁

Always friendly staff. They have a different food truck changing each week on either a friday or Saturday night. Lots of different evens advertised on their Facebook page. They have a beautiful outside seating area with heaters and mood lighting. They also have an open area to the side for sun worships. You get the last rays of sun in thar area. It's a wonderful independent local pub. Steve the owner is great very friendly to everyone. Highly recommend

I sadly had the privilege of hosting my mum's wake at the Woodman pub, and I couldn't have asked for a more comforting and thoughtful experience. Louise and her incredible team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect on this somber occasion. The staff, managed by Louise were impeccably dressed, very professional and offered a warmth with their attentive service, it made all the difference as they seamlessly catered to our needs throughout the event. The finger food they provided was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding a touch of elegance to the gathering. What truly touched my heart was the personal touch Louise and her team added by playing a slideshow of my mum's photos and her favorite music on the TV. It created a truly heartwarming and nostalgic atmosphere, allowing us to celebrate her life in a meaningful way. But what truly set this experience apart was the genuine care and empathy shown by the staff. They understood the sensitivity of the occasion and ensured that every guest felt comfortable and supported. In a time of grief, Louise's management of Steve’s pub and her remarkable team provided a space of solace, respect, and comfort. I am immensely grateful for their kindness and attention to detail, making my mum's wake a beautiful and heartfelt tribute. If you're looking for a place that combines professionalism, compassion, and exceptional service, I wholeheartedly recommend The Woodman Pub on Breakspear.

The moment I entered the restaurant, I could tell that this would be a cozy, welcoming community. They had managed to think of the most extraordinary idea in the history of places to eat, which is that they hand around the food in a tray and each time there are different foods on each plate. The workers there (Lou, Abi and Hannah) are incredibly kind and you can always rely on them to bring your food and drinks to you. The quality of the design and furniture there is truly remarkable, with plenty of space in between them. The bathrooms were very tidy and spacious, and fancy too. There were golden outlines on the sinks and the design of the wood is even good quality! I would highly recommend going to this place either to hang out with your mates, catch up on some work or to wind down after a hard, emotional day at the funeral nearby. So, if you’re walking along the street and you see this building, maybe you should think twice about just walking by. ...

Went here for lunch and could not be happier. All 7 of us had fish and chips with peas. This was recommended to us by the land lady. She boasted how good it was. I love it when someone is so sure of what they are doing and they are not only right but they nail it. Everything that was served to all us was perfect. Tartare sauce, clearly made on site was lovely. Peas were good quality and freshly cooked. They clearly had not been sitting in luke warm water like in some places. The chips were lovely. Skin left on, not greasy and they complimented the fish. Now to the star of the show the fish. Great tasting, thin batter and again not greasy. Many pubs could learn from this one and when we are next in the area we will of course try something else.

Can't help but notice that all the one and two star reviews on here are nonsense reviews with no evidence of...
