Where to even start. I parked outside of this establishment and went inside to order a crepe. It turned out that they didn’t have any crepe’s. I then asked for a waffle. They didn’t have any waffles. Firstly, what dessert shop doesn’t have any waffles or crepes? You’ve guessed it, Smokey Bubbles.
As I was about to leave empty handed, I walked through the exit door and began to climb into my car. I then heard a worker shout something at me. I went back inside to ask what he said. He said that he actually did locate some waffles and he could cook them now. I was happy with that, and paid the man. I was getting the waffles to takeaway, and I asked how long it would take. The man said between 15-20minutes. No one else was in the shop. I could of personally flown to Belgium and got myself a Belgian waffle quicker than these guys could knock one up. I was stunned with the wait-time and I said that i’d come back in 15minutes to collect my waffles.
When I returned, the waiter was outside the shop, smoking weed with some guys in a car. I went in and asked another waiter what had happened to my waffles, he replied “I didn’t serve you, so ask the other guy” I could tell instantly that he was a very friendly person. I patiently waited for my waiter to return from getting high. When he did return, he walked in the shop to the giveaway signs of a burnt waffle, the elegant fragrance of smoke. The waiter then apologised for burning the waffle, and said he’d make me a new one and that this time it would only take 2 minutes? He must of either got too high, or secretly bought a new waffle maker whilst I was away. He retrieved two waffles from the freezer, using his bare hands, which he rinsed under a tap and then wiped them on the bum of his jeans. He then aggressively told a young worker to cook the waffles. The young worker was clearly busy making a dessert for another customer at the time. Between the two of them, (the original waiter and the young worker) they actually managed to once again burn the waffles. I was so embarrassed for them. They didnt actually care, they scooped the waffles up and placed them in a burger box and then using their bare hands, they shovelled up some toppings that I didn’t ask for and sprinkled them onto my poor non-expecting waffles. I went home in disbelief, tried my best to eat the waffles and ended up throwing most of it away. Do yourself a favour and avoid...
Read moreAmazing shisha, great relaxing atmosphere. Been coming here since it first opened years ago when it was a small room at the front. Since the new manager Mohammed has arrived it has been nothing but rude attitude from him. He's rude, arrogant does not know how to speak to people nor his staff. Number of times I've heard him speak so rudely to staff members. Nobody should be spoken to this way. I even heard him say 'if you don't like it go work somewhere else' in front of other customers. Everyday it's a different rule. Apparently its a new rule which you HAVE to buy a drink regardless of if a shisha has been purchased. I don't usually leave reviews but after he said to me 'I'm the manager, not shehzad' he has left a bitter taste for me in coming here again. I appreciate there are rules but there are also loyal customers who have been coming here before this guy was employed. Seriously needs to sort his attitude out.
Overall cannot fault the owner and the staff. The 'manager' needs customer...
Read moreAvoid this place! Ordered a too good to go magic bag and received soft serve ice cream that they sell for a RRP of £2.95 and a tiny chocolate cake slice that they sell for a RRP of £4.50 so a combined retail value of £7.45. First problem is that the £4.50 slice of chocolate cake is from a Costco cake as you can see from the pictures. For those that don't know the whole cake only costs £9.99 from Costco. If I'm paying £4.50 for a tiny slice of cake from a dessert parlour i expect that cake to be artisan made in house with high quality ingredients. Not an off the shelf supermarket cake (imagine being served a Tesco cake at a dessert parlour for those that don't know Costco). Second and a bigger problem - false advertising which is illegal - on toogoodtogo they advertise the value of the items to be £12 (discounted to £4.40 to sell food at the end of the day instead of wasting it) so only delivering about half the advertised value. Scammy human beings and...
