Italian Taste — Restaurant in London

I have been getting my lunch from this cafe for 4 years - all through my undergraduate degree and now on my MSc course.

I specifically went there for lunch today as a treat to celebrate a good grade I just received (that’s how delicious the food is!)

I got an egg mayonnaise sandwich on white bread and I think it might be the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Doesn’t get any fresher then watching the server peel the eggs to make the egg mayo!

Everything I have eaten in there is delicious, the interior is absolutely beautiful, especially since they had a revamp, and the staff are always polite, helpful and quick with their service!

I never write reviews but this place 100%...

Should have listened to the recent reviews of this place before going in. Not sure what has happened in 3 months since the last 5 star review but this place seems to have gone down hill. The guy who served us - long grey hair - was dismissive and short with us, not a great attitude, as if we were intruding on his space. The food was rubbish and overpriced - can't believe we paid £10.95 for a chicken escalope ciabatta which was very small and dry, with a couple of diced pieces of chicken - see photo. I've been going to this café on and off for 10 years and it's seen a lot of changes in that time, the breakfast used to be a lot bigger and cost a lot less than it does now and at the current prices I won't be going back. At nearly £10 for a traditional breakfast and a coffee almost double what it used to cost it now no longer equates to good value for money which is a shame as the owners are very nice. You can get a lot more for a lot less and the same quality food ( BREAKFAST) at the Sunshine café on Tolworth Broadway. A sad day indeed but goodbye from a once loyal happy customer.
