Canaan — Restaurant in London

Nice local Chinese restaurant where ya can a full meal and then some for the low. Went with the Mel’s that gave fried rice and 3 choices of meats for like 8£. Decided to go with the chicken curry and doubled up on the salt and pepper ribs. The chicken curry was a bit of a let down as there were many 3 pieces of chicken in the curry but it was flavorful and good to mix into the rice. The salt and pepper ribs were seasoned to perfection and super delicious. Just wish there a bit more meat on the bone. Both had a ton of vegetables like an overwhelming amount but next time I’ll adjust and say none. The fried rice was standard, wish I went with the boiled tbh but overall good. So the chow mein was a weird one for me as I’m not from the UK and maybe it’s just standard but it was a bit heavy on the sauce. Overall a solid Chinese spot in the area and they deliver too so...

This was my first time to try canaan as my regular Chinese closed. I was a bit sceptical at first as the prices are cheaper compared to my past few take aways i tried. For a safe bet l went for set meal c. Everything was still hot when I received it and the portions are generous for the price, and everything tasted fresh. As l didn't know what to order as this wasn't my usual take away, the lady at the counter was very helpful talking me through the dishes and given me suggestions, without being too busy. I didn't have to wait long which I was prepared to do given it was a Friday evening and everything was cooked to my specifications.(I am quite picky. The worst delivery meal ever in my life.

The meal arrived 80 MINUTES after I placed the order - 35 min longer than I'd been promised to by the restaurant! When it finally arrived, the delivery guy didn't even bother to offer a slightest apology. Already the dinner was off to a bad start.

When I removed the food from the bag, I noticed the starter was in a broken plastic container (see the picture), and since the broken shard was nowhere be found in the delivery bag, I could only assume that the container was already broken before it left the restaurant, i.e., the kitchen KNOWINGLY sent out the order in a broken container - so much for health and safety and food hygiene.

The experience was absolutely dreadful and appalling....
