I recently had the pleasure of dining at Charcol Champ, a fantastic Chinese BBQ restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern yet retains a touch of traditional Chinese aesthetics, making it a perfect blend of contemporary and classic.

The menu offers an extensive selection of BBQ dishes, each one more tempting than the last. I decided to try a variety of items to get the full experience. The skewered lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The grilled vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection, providing a nice balance to the meal.

One of the standout dishes was the marinated chicken wings. They were juicy, well-marinated, and had a delightful smoky flavor that left me craving more. The seafood options, especially the grilled prawns, were also exceptional – fresh, succulent, and expertly cooked.

The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were more than happy to offer recommendations and ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable.

This place absolutely blew me away. We were 3adults and two juniors. We ordered one set menu for two which was £55. This included many types of meat skewers, prawn skewers, mushroom skewers, rice and glass noodles in mushroom broth.. we added a couple of other items.. we were all very full!! The total bill was £85 with tea and cokes. This was great value for 5people with such good quality proteins.

The flavours were something I have not had before. Very umami. Abit spicy. Absolutely amazing

As the non meat eater at the table I was blown away by their fish tofu skewers. And will be forever craving them again.

The glass noodles in mushroom broth were absolutely worth the hype.. full of flavour

It is a simple restaurant, which has a cool vibe to it. You order and pay, and the skewers fly out fast.. there is a good selection of Chinese/asian beers which really complement the skewers. They do not have any wine. We did not feel rushed and had a fabulous time.

We saw other diners ordering cucumber salad, enademe beans and other skewers we had not tried. Will look forward to returning many more times to try out faves...

First visit tonight, and what a fantastic experience! The moment we stepped in, we could feel the energy — a lively vibe filled with the aroma of sizzling BBQ, the clinking of beer bottles, and the sound of happy chatter. We arrived around 8 PM and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table, which is pretty reasonable for a buzzing Saturday evening.

The staff were warm and welcoming, and service was impressively fast. Now to the highlight: the BBQ! From the juicy lamb skewers to the smoky chicken wings, every bite was packed with flavor. The seasoning was just right — bold, savory, and addictive. The skewers brought back nostalgic memories of late-night street BBQs from my childhood.
